Honestly given the "Democracy Protects" armor perk I don't think something like that (but not that) would be entirely out of character for this game.

I dunno maybe increase movement speed, provide health regen, reduced recoil, whatever really. Put it all under "motivation".

Glad someone beat me to it. After the tiny flag bit of the tutorial, I was at LEAST hoping for a mission objective of capturing an overrun base, and sticking a flag in the middle once claimed.

Would love to have a flag "banner bearer" AOE support item that uses the backpack slot. Activating it ("FOR DEMOCRACY!!!" or other patriotic screaming) could give a little health regen, faster reload speed and infinite stamina for 10s. Nothing crazy, but good for little "oh sh!t" moments, and would look amazingly aesthetic/democratic!

Banner art could just be the Super Earth emblem, or have it change depending on the player's cape?
