- all armor sets are copy-pasted, heavy/medium is not working at all
- guns are unbalanced: only 1 viable option the rest is trash that requires 2K+ medals to unlock
- upgrades are lazily done: collect 100 same items in the same looking places to reduce orbital strikes cooldown by 10%
- no variety in enemies, if you played each race at lvl 7+ difficulty - you have seen all enemies this game has to offer
Imagine if the progression was faster. There's not much to unlock to begin with and you'd be even more bored after you quickly unlocked everything.
the fine line between a h0rrible death and winning s0 hard it l00ks like y0u are in a m0vie is what captures me
the well layered mechanics ar0und acti0ns like the fl0aty aiming 0r interacting with 0bjectives add a layer 0f authenticity that n0t a l0t 0f 0ther games pr0vide
y0u feel like y0u are in a real space war but realistically war isnt all that variable
find where y0ur enemies are massing 0r making weap0ns and destr0y them all
the game and its 0bjectives are difficult en0ugh t0 keep s0me0ne like me dr0pping 0ver and 0ver again because it just "feels g00d" t0 0verc0me these 0bstacles again and again
It's quite empowering to know that you can hold your own without having to rely on any stratagems.
With the release of the sequel, and from currently having invested a hundred hours in it, it seems that a lot of the badassery comes from relying on meta stratagsm builds, or running away all the time. With a lot of emphasis on coop, you'll find your biggest chance to survive is to stick with your team and coordinate with them to take out threats preemptively.
That's fine, it's a good game to be played with friends. I was just more so hoping for more opportunities to shine on your own out in the field. Though the game is still being updated, so maybe with time we'll start becoming less reliant on stratagems and have them be more convinience-based rather than a necessity.
