Major Order not progressing?

is anyone else stuck in their progression to "win at at least 8 defend campaigns against the automatons". me and my buddy have competed over 8 and remain at 3/8 campaigns completed

Major orders are community goals. It's 8 planets to defend.

It refers to campaigns, as in the progress on an entire planet, not a single mission or operation (set of missions) done by individual players. The language isn't as clear as it should be.

this confused me as well, it seems that when we defend a planet it is a + to the progress bar. think this is why the timer on the order is so long.

Its because we're not getting successful defense campaigns on the map because the vast majority of people are out bullying the bugs instead of participating in space vietnam against the bots.

They're part of community efforts. I had someone explain it thusly:

Missions are one round,

Operations are several missions with a large payout

Campaigns are the collective effort of operations and missions on any given planet ! We're currently stuck at 6 campaigns completed out of the 8.
So: once we finish enough Defend missions on the contested planets, we'll all get a payout.
