The devs would still have to do some work, they are not that large of a team so it's unlikely to see it.

There's no permanent 1st person, but you can do what Vinn said, but you can also change it to where any aiming at all goes to first person mode without having to push middle mouse. (I think it's called Dynamic Mode, not sure how it works.)
Honestly, IMO first person only would hinder more than help. The bit of extra perspective you get in third person has saved my life a number of times. You're already pretty squish. No need to gimp yourself more, eh?
Private profile, which game are you hacking in mate?
Pretty much this. The original Helldivers was a top-down perspective acting more like a twin shooter, so it's obvious they wanted to keep that same amount of tactical awareness in the next one, yet still wanted to play like a shooter and to be able to actually see in front of you, so a 3rd/OTS view was probably the best choice.
Also, I swear it seems like some guns (that are not sniper rifles) are easier to aim in third person than in 1st, except if you're aiming over a ridge.
When you hit ADS you go into first person.
When you're not ADS, it's third-person.
You really need the extra FOV, tbh. Otherwise you'd stand no chance.

cant run in first person
cant dive in first person
