How do you even join someone in this game

Finished the tutorial and now im on the ship, played one mission expected to be with other players turns out i was solo, ok i have finished it thinking it was tutorial mission then i start up next one, same thing.

HOW THE F*CK DO YOU JOIN SOMEONE IN THIS GAME Im looking at the planet selecting missions but it only allows me to host them not to find actual game quickplay just searches endlessly so im confused really. Why i cant just get the server list and simply join someone. Im felling like im reta**ed and missing some option that I dont see.

Normally there is an option for quickplay that will automatically find you a match. There also is usually active games with an SOS beacon set up that pop up on the planet map. Both of these seem to be down atm because of the server strain.
The best way to find a team is add friend codes from Steam forums or the Discord server.

he lied to u to try and get in himself. once ur in go up to the globe and press R, it wil ltell you. it may or may not work because servers are overloaded. i have a few friends on my list and its easier to join their ship instead of quickplay sometimes. if nothing is working u may justhgave to have to most people are sleeping or at work. if u dont want to do that id jsut refund and get it next week when hopefuilly everything is fixed

I dont get it, how does co-op game needs to have online only mode without at least optional peer2peer connection or offline mode. Im pretty sure Left 4 Dead had dedicated servers and local server option.

oh dog, don't trust people on the internet. you have to hold the dive button, default is Alt, and cycle through the F keys until you find a server/planet that accepts you

or u can try dropping in a mission and dropping a SOS and peopel join that way to sometimes. worked for me anyway. also think about playing solo for about 30 min jsut to get use to the game more, its easy to teamkill etc

its co-op game its not like cheating is gonna impact you that much and they could give players option to vote kick I mean its democracy after all.
the war effort could be simply simulated with collecting info after mission completion, some games did that.
Only reason is probably microtransactions.

Cheating is bad for the game regardless of whether it is coop or not. Also, it could impact their revenue which they obviously don't want.

Add friend, then if you see they online press join
