Dealing with chargers
The game doesn't give any hints to deal with them. It also doesn't help that they can be as fast as the player and climb steep cliffs and be like a cliffracer from Morrowind. Kinda prevents people from fleeing, gearing up then trying to fight them again.

So basically, a hard hit at the back leg and then another shot or two (from the front or back) will make it stumble. May or may not kill it. The question is does it get slowed down if it's still alive?

Auto cannon will do it. Recoil rockets can work. Breaker shotgun will have the punch probably, but what about SMGS? How many shots at the back leg does it take then?

We just don't get enough info in the game itself.

Run towards it, zig diagonally towards it to the side at the last second, so it passes by you, it can't turn that fast so will continue straight for 30ft then stop, when it stops and stands still for 4 seconds, magdump it from behind for ez kill.

lending my level 50 knowledge,

Do not waste time on its tail, noob trap.
Use a heavy weapon and rip armor off one leg (front is easier) and then finish with small arms.

Charger's have health values for each part of their body, they only need 1 zero'd to die. You'll be shocked how big a pushover these guys are once you kill a few.
They're just the Anjanath for HD2 players, noob checkers. Hard at first, but once you overcome them they become a non-threat.

Well.... until your team is bad and starts a charger death ball, then you gotta learn how to juke them!

Any stratagem that deals with armor specifically is good or the flamethrower if you can dodge. Shoot the front legs, 1 recoilless or disposable will break it then just shoot with your regular gun. A few pops with the rifle works too if you have surprise or a quickscope skill. The railgun is level 20 and if you managed to get that far and not know how to kill a charger, I dunno what to say tbh.

They are super easy to dodge.
Let it charge at you and at the last second dive out of the way, you then have at least 5 seconds to re-position / kill it.

As for killing it, quickest ways are rail cannon orbital, orbital laser (maybe 110 rocket pods, i've not used them yet). Can also use precision strike or 500KG eagle bomb, but harder to land.

Another easy way and one that I do personally is just to use the disposable anti tank. 1 minute cooldown, 1 shot to a leg will destroy the armour and then either finish with your main gun, 2 shots with auto cannon or another shot in the exposed place with the other anti tank launcher that drops.

Even then it's not such a threat.

Drop a 500kg bomb on your feet while wearing a shield backpack, watch as a huge mass of chargers all die while you don't.

And even if you don't have a shield backpack, one helldiver life is still worth taking out so many chargers. Just make sure they are all around you near the center when the bomb drops

If you can’t adapt and come up with a strategy to beat a dainty ass charger just go back to medium.

SPEAR can one tap them in the face once you get used to the distance.

Honestly, I'd deal with then better if the teams stuck together more so I could deal with them.

I can do suicide missions, but got to keep the team together. This goes double when someone is playing a heavy role that is slower and needs to take out key targets. Someone needs to keep the smaller bugs off.

Thing is sometimes it doesn't one tap them and you feel like throwing that weapon into the dumpster. Spear need a little buff so it kills a charger in a single shot 100% of the time otherwise it's just not worth using over other rocket launchers.

Honestly, currently the leg armor strip is the easiest way to deal with them.

However, I must say, if you take a moment to think about it you can tell that the Charger isn't working as intended BECAUSE of the leg shot. If it were intended, than it's the most weird and unintuitive design choice they made... which is still bad.

true sometimes it doesnt one tap but leaves it with heavy bleeding. you can keep kiting while it bleeds to death. from my experiences : sometimes it bleeds to death in less than 10secs but i also seen it went as high half a minute. smths like that.

Kite it like a matador does to a bull, then shoot it in it's ass.
