Do not waste time on its tail, noob trap.
Use a heavy weapon and rip armor off one leg (front is easier) and then finish with small arms.
Charger's have health values for each part of their body, they only need 1 zero'd to die. You'll be shocked how big a pushover these guys are once you kill a few.
They're just the Anjanath for HD2 players, noob checkers. Hard at first, but once you overcome them they become a non-threat.
Well.... until your team is bad and starts a charger death ball, then you gotta learn how to juke them!
Let it charge at you and at the last second dive out of the way, you then have at least 5 seconds to re-position / kill it.
As for killing it, quickest ways are rail cannon orbital, orbital laser (maybe 110 rocket pods, i've not used them yet). Can also use precision strike or 500KG eagle bomb, but harder to land.
Another easy way and one that I do personally is just to use the disposable anti tank. 1 minute cooldown, 1 shot to a leg will destroy the armour and then either finish with your main gun, 2 shots with auto cannon or another shot in the exposed place with the other anti tank launcher that drops.
Drop a 500kg bomb on your feet while wearing a shield backpack, watch as a huge mass of chargers all die while you don't.
And even if you don't have a shield backpack, one helldiver life is still worth taking out so many chargers. Just make sure they are all around you near the center when the bomb drops
so helpful, must be fun to play with you
Honestly, I'd deal with then better if the teams stuck together more so I could deal with them.
I can do suicide missions, but got to keep the team together. This goes double when someone is playing a heavy role that is slower and needs to take out key targets. Someone needs to keep the smaller bugs off.
However, I must say, if you take a moment to think about it you can tell that the Charger isn't working as intended BECAUSE of the leg shot. If it were intended, than it's the most weird and unintuitive design choice they made... which is still bad.
true sometimes it doesnt one tap but leaves it with heavy bleeding. you can keep kiting while it bleeds to death. from my experiences : sometimes it bleeds to death in less than 10secs but i also seen it went as high half a minute. smths like that.
