Any tips for optimization?
I have a RTX 3090 and a I7-13700k. I've tried tuning down some of the settings to medium and even use a program to upscale the game similar to FSR or DLSS. In a relatively intense situation. I go from 80-90 frames to 60 and below. While that's still playable, there's a few instances its dropped further. Any recommendations to stabilize it? The game definitely needs to be tweaked a bit for better optimization. But are there any settings that are real hard hitters for FPS? I'd rather shoot for a consistent framerate.

They have an overheating problem right now, which is hitting 3090's and older systems with cards like mine (gtx970).

I got a lot of mileage by turning the motion blur off, which looks better to me anyway.

Turn off Screen Space Global Illumination (SSGI)

Wait, really? What resolution are you playing on? Because my laptop (14900HX, Mobile 4090) and can't say I've noticed the game go below 80FPS (Have it capped there) even during swarms of 20-40 bugs

3080 10700k here, 1440p max settings, i tend to find ultra settings running almost identical as high settings. maybe and surely i lost some frames but i'd say i got almost the same performance which is like yours, i'm locked at 85fps and it dips to 60's when its chaos.

we can only wait for some optimisation and maybe dlss =) but the game is smooth anyway, you dont really feels the fps drops.
If you really want a stable framerate, limit your fps to 60 for now

What the ♥♥♥♥... I'm running on 2560x1600 and yeah, easily getting 80FPS, are you sure it's not your software that's adding in the upscaling? Wouldn't put it past the anti-cheat to get pissy over it LOL, either that or I'm just not noticing the random slowdowns when the game goes chaotic and since I've not been playing for *that* long, I'm still really only on difficulty 3-4 so hard to say.

Edit: Could also be software bloat, but I doubt reinstalling a clean Windows will actually cause anything other then headaches.

there does seem to be a mciro stutter at the moment with the server issues. The rest of the week i played fine with similar specs.

Bro, I am on a 3090 w/ a 5600x at 4k and hit 100-120 fps at max, Ultra Quality upscale. It's pretty smooth. Try resetting your nvidia optimization in the performance overlay.

I dont really have much software running and none of my stuff hits 100%, i definitely have room to spare with RAM as well. 64 GB.

Same, with my game up I'm using 22/64GB of my RAM, so it shouldn't be a RAM issue, only thing I can think of is troubleshooting your hardware, because a 13900K and a 13700K really shouldn't be struggling that much, though I'm going to play some Medium rounds so I can keep an eye on my Framerate to see if my game is as stable as it looks, could just be me afterall.

on the mothership sure, i'm curious how much fps you got during big fights.

Ok so, after playing some more I've noticed the same drops to 50-60 FPS, but I also noticed nGuard going upto like, 20-30% CPU use at the same time

Yup, noticed this as well, and wow is it disappointing to see. I actually stopped using hwmonitor with this game because I was that disgusted lol. I just don't even want to look at my CPU being hogged by such a thing and degrading performance.

It really makes me wonder if the published requirements they had out for the game didn't include the game running with GameGuard, which is disingenuous .. When I look at my lows, it always occurs with GameGuard hogging and spiking.

Just don't upgrade graphics driver for now if you're using nvidia. Broken mess crashed my game alot.
Other than that i suppose wait for dlss update maybe?

If it's the anti-cheat hogging the CPU, then DLSS would do jack for the drops, since that'd only reduce your GPU use (Highest I've seen is 80% on my mobile 4090, on a level 6 mission with like, 40-50 bugs on or around the screen), though DLSS would help people who're struggling GPU wise and would certainly love to see it.

Still, I'd say the games graphic optimisation is ok, they'd need to look at GameGuard if it keeps spiking like this, since it was NOT doing this to me a few days ago so something is off about it.

Edit: I'll also say that I didn't notice any further FPS drops after I set the Helldivers exe to high priority for the CPU, but that could be a coincidence.
