kill it with fire achievement bugged?

I did two different defence missions and killed over 100 bugs in both using nothing but a flamethrower, but I didn't get the achievement. Is it because I was spraying enemies down until they died, or does it need to be from afterburn or something?

It seems that you have to kill enemys with the damage over time and not the hit itself. Like youre not allowed to kill a bug with the direct hit of the flametrower but its fire that is placed on the ground.

yeah, figured this out afterwards; if anybody is trying to get this the best way to do it is using incendiary mines on defence and just guiding hordes into them

Lol darn. Thank you. I just spent like 2 hours not getting it. Then solo'd a defense with incendiary grenades/mines and got in about 5 minutes. Thank you Google for finding this thread!

The bugs have different values in the defense missions. For example, if you kill a charger it will give you 15 "kills" out of the 350 you need however this does not work for the Achievement. Believe it or not, you probably just simply didn't kill enough.
