Not possible to upgrade to super citizen edition with just base game?

I was gifted the game but I wanted to purchase the Upgrade to the super citizen edition. But it just looks like you can only buy the bundle on steam, When its available to purchase on the play station store separately. Is this just a bug or am I missing something here?

you can't be a super citizen but you can get the warbond they have access too for 1000 super credits (also known as good boy points)

If you buy the bundle and already have the game on your steam account, it just charges you for the upgrade, you don't end up with a second copy of the game. Or at least it should, I don't know if you getting the game as a gift would affect it or not.

there should be an option for dlc on steam. I bought base game on humble and the super citizen upgrade on steam

Did you manage to buy it? And it only charged for the upgrade?
Im in the same boat, have the base game, but cant buy the upgrade

Yep! Add the bundle and goto checkout and you'll notice it the price will be changed to how it should be
