Not exactly true... they had just as rocky of a start as HD 2:
https://www.neowin.net/news/the-launch-of-palworld-today-has-been-hit-with-server-issues-due-to-tons-of-players/
And Palworld went down from a large player base of 2 mil to about 400k in a couple weeks. And following the steam forums they have as many issues and even a growing list of bugs that HD 2 does not. So the rosy picture is not completely there for it either. :)
No they weren't, they had dc/connection issues, servers reseting peoples progress as in they had to randomly start all over cuz the server crashed etc. I love Palworld but the offical servers suck and still suck even now. I think they fixed the wipe problem, but there is still connection issues and such. As Palworld has no anti-cheat hacking/cheating is insane in the offical servers. Its why anyone will reccomend you host your own dedi or join a fan community that does, or even host one local for up to you and 3 friends, or even play single player which is completly offline.
I'd say worse, at least HD2 doesn't have a bug that wipes all saves on the offical servers randomly like they did at first. Never happened to privatly run dedis or local servers it was only a offical server issue.
the real problem people are naive and following these groups, since a long time.
type the game's name in youtube, pick up any youtuber there, and you d be enlightened about anything you can ask about specific game. hell, even if that youtuber is sponsored by devs.
