keyboard and mouse prompt issues

I prefer to use keyboard an mouse for all but racing games.
So i played yesterday or the day before and it recognized i was on keyboard and showed me the right buttons to press.
Now it has switched to all controller button prompts. I tried to go into the settings and alter the graphics but i couldn't find the right keyboard buttons to press for it to accept and save properly. I tried literally every key and mouse click possible but it wouldn't save my alterations to the settings.
I tried restarting the game to get it to switch back.
I couldn't find a setting that would make it give keyboard prompts instead of controller prompts.
I also tried googling it but couldn't find anything matching what i was experiencing. I also applied the most recent update just before opening it today I'm suspicious that has something to do with this issue.
any ideas or tips?

Had something like that, altho keys swiched back to KB as soon as I pressed anything.
Now I leave controller unplugged and everything works fine, as apparently the game kept swiching due to very slight drift on one of the sticks causing it to believe I'm swiching to controller randomly.

I have exactly the same problem! I played it on my Steam Deck, because my PC had some issues and since I switched back, I only see the controller layouts. Sadly I haven't found a solution yet. I hoped to find them here^^
