Get buddies, bring heavy armour and MGs.
Impact grenades will knock the chicken-leg walkers out with one hit.
Recommend gatling sentries. Mortar sentries can be great until they start killing civilians.
Keep moving from bunker door to bunker door in a circle route and hose down anything that slows you down.

Too hard, they're impossible lol. They clearly didn't even play-test it beforehand. You don't even have enough ammo to deal with all the enemies, nor time, as you need to constantly escort the stupid civilians. There's just way too much going on all at once.

Lol bring Heavy Armor. bro you don't even play the game nor understand the bugs going on right now do you? You get 4 impacts, there are 8+ walkers, you kill maybe 5 maybe 6 with all your grenades, ohhh look they just air dropped in 8 more. Resupply is also on cooldown big sadge.

I had a feeling the rate of which their dropships arrive are too fast, its literally one after the other.

its challenging, but not impossible, there's no shame to lower difficulty if you find it too hard for now. The trick is focusing entirely in making a corridor for civilians, it doesnt have to be both houses, one is fine.
-Mortars and ems mortars if you have the level are really good for this one, because they stay forever shooting and giving cover.
-Dont be scared to press the civilian button often, if they die you just lose a little bit of credits aftermission, but should be negligible from what ive seen.
-dont bother too much with orbital strikes, they reload too slow, at most eagles are the best usable thing, and dont bother with mines too much either for the same reason.
-but remember, if theres no civilians moving, you are losing already, it's really important they are always moving.
-I know its quite down the line, but the placeable forcefield is a godsend to secure a little the entrance to the shuttle.

I think this is the part that is glitched. I counted 8 drop-ships in one minute my last game. That's not even possible to deal with. That means each Helldiver needs to completely destroy two drop-ships worth of Automatons every minute. AND keep doing the objective. It's simply not possible.

Anyone who says they've completed this successfully I call BS. either you played just the regular civ escort or you're lying. You give me a video of you doing this mission and I'll believe you.

The amount of dropships coming is impossible to make any type of route for the suicidal civs.

Yeah that was the first mission I chose and I counted 8 drop ships in 35 seconds. Curious if it is tied to the games war map concept that the area is simply over run with robot. Though I would say that is a very bad idea. Because it is assuming the community is interested in playing a challenging game after a long day at work. Any free time I get is not one I care to spend stressing out over video games that require team work and community progression.

My biggest issue with the mode other than its just not pleasant to play at all and overtuned to hell in back is the lack of information youre given. How much does each win generate towards the goal? how much does each loss generate towards defeat?

plus the post mission rewards arent even worth it. Using easy as an example between normal mission bug planet and the defense. we play easy cause im lvl 8 and my friend is lvl 5 atm.

A friend and I Duo play we take out all the nests, Find the side quest and just go around exploring for about 30 minutes of our 40 minute drop, Make anywhere from 5-10 Samples (On the defense there is 2), Make 2 medals on completion (same as defense) but also have a chance to find medals in the field, Can find super credits and Requisitions in the field, Exp at the end is about 300 on easy (max ive gotten in defense is 165 also on easy), and the average full completion mission reward is around 1000-1080 credits (in defense mission max ive gotten is about 400)

Theres no point mathematically doing the defense and bashing head against wall to do a overtuned mission like this :/ its just not fun unless your warband is maxed, ship is fully upgraded, and your max level and dont need 90% of the stuff that youre losing out on.

I did it on challenging difficulty, but I will admit it is A NIGHTMARE. Get the Recoilless and shoot as many bot drops out of the sky as possible. It helps. Mortar turrets, Gatling, Recoilless, and Orbital 135mm for me, ran engineering (medium armor) so I had +2 grenades and the full loadout booster.

Don't get me wrong, it was awful but we made it out. Again: only on challenging difficulty, so if you're talking about any difficulty higher than that I genuinely have no idea how ppl are doing it lol

I had a team manage it quite handily, but everyone brought in a Recoilless rifle, it seems one of the key ways to win is to shoot down as many of the dropships as u can while escorting civvies, the more dropships u blow up the less enemies u face overall

I was on medium. I was in a group. I've also done it on easy with only one other person. The civs are not the issue. It's just popping the buttons, and surviving that's the problem. There are 3 places to get civs from, so you can chain them back and forth almost endless if you get the right rhythm going. Bots stop going for civs as soon as you start attacking them, so you can loop them away from your civs.

Mainly what I saw was people gettings civs killed with airstrikes, grenades and turrets, less died to bots. but maybe that's just me. It is doable, but I'm not going to lie, it is very intense compared to the other missions which are very chill on these difficulties.
Plagen Feb 16, 2024 @ 3:25pm
If you're having problems, lower the difficulty. I've beaten it on Medium almost every single time and beat it a few times on Hard.
