It's just absurd. It's not winnable.

I agree that is it not winnable by our community. Too many people go in it at very high difficulties thinking they can manage it and fail, contributing to the automatons advance. With the right strategy and by concentrating on the objective, they are not that hard and are winnable.

Bro I went in it on Easy and got overrun. Once my abilities are on CD there's not enough ammo to keep up with the amount of enemies.

Don't lose your time shooting enemies. Place sentries near the evacuation building, use the Guard Dog (laser) to keep the enemies off you and run to save the civilians (push the buttons at the three building). I am soloing medium easily and did extreme with a squad.

Look all I'm saying is I play the objective and it just feels like the devs don't want us to win this. I've beaten it a few times myself on at least challenging but the overall progress is not moving, so clearly they want it to be nigh unwinnable or it's still borked.

My biggest issue with the mode other than its just not pleasant to play at all and overtuned to hell in back is the lack of information youre given. How much does each win generate towards the goal? how much does each loss generate towards defeat?

plus the post mission rewards arent even worth it. Using easy as an example between normal mission bug planet and the defense. we play easy cause im lvl 8 and my friend is lvl 5 atm.

A friend and I Duo play we take out all the nests, Find the side quest and just go around exploring for about 30 minutes of our 40 minute drop, Make anywhere from 5-10 Samples (On the defense there is 2), Make 2 medals on completion (same as defense) but also have a chance to find medals in the field, Can find super credits and Requisitions in the field, Exp at the end is about 300 on easy (max ive gotten in defense is 165 also on easy), and the average full completion mission reward is around 1000-1080 credits (in defense mission max ive gotten is about 400)

Theres no point mathematically doing the defense and bashing head against wall to do a overtuned mission like this :/ its just not fun unless your warband is maxed, ship is fully upgraded, and your max level and dont need 90% of the stuff that youre losing out on.

To elaborate a little more. If this is intentional it feels like they make it hard so that you lose. When you lose outright you get nothing for your time. Waste enough players' time and they'll just not play guaranteeing the event plays as desired.

We've only managed to stem the tide a few times with 8 mortars, 4 rail guns and 4 supply packs a couple of times on 8 and 9 but apparently it was pretty much the same on all difficulties.
With that setup, it only got a bit dicey when tanks appeared.

But this is still bad. It wasn't fun being somewhat forced to run such kit but at the same time, it was very apparent that this mission was bugging out.

The mission gets way easier when you take out the drop ships before they unload their troops. Hit one of their jets with a rocket and you can buy youurself around 20 seconds to hit the buttons.

Yeah but is it going to matter with the massive lead they have already? Plus many people who never read patch notes aren't going to have a clue they been modified.

I gotta test later but new patch vaguely describes this was fixed.

In general, it seems to me the bots are WAY harder than bugs. But the defense missions in particular had bugged spawnrates with nonstop enemies on all difficulties. The difficulty only changes what kinds of enemies spawn, not the rate they spawn at.
