AutoHotKey No longer works!

Well that was the last and final straw for me, I'm done with this game. if the devs want to be anal, fine, it wont be at my expense. I wont spend another second in this game.

I'm left handed and need to have certain keys rebound to work properly in the game and the devs seem to now think that AutoHoKey is cheating. Its not, If you programmed the damn game correctly to begin with we would not have the need to use AHK.

For instance, have to change the Return key so I can use it as the use key. Enter opens the chant window, if you have this key as your use key, it also opens the chat window at the same time. Same goes for the Number Pad keys. You cant rebind those either without them also interfering with the DEL, END, PGDN, INS, HOME and PGUP keys. Its some of the laziest fricking programming I have ever seen from a developer.

Without being able to remap those keys, It literally impossible to play the game now.

Tell me you're 14 years old without telling me you're 14 years old. AHK is a macro software used for automating a ton of tasks, I use it on my daily workflow for everything. And it's also nice to automate tedious tasks in games.

We're in 2024 and most games don't even provide full key remaps. Even games backed by and made by AAA studios/publishers.

The sheer laziness of a lot of developers is astounding.

bought a 20 button mmo mouse, mousesoftware supps macros. win. even have a macro for enshrouded called mg42 hitlersaw 20ms delay for swords and one for auto digging.

strategems or what ever are nice, but why stand still on battlefield midst a fight. even special officer doofus wouldnt do that. fixed a faulty feature - and we are the baddies..yeah nope

For one, I wasn't using it for cheating, because I cant rebind certain key. Secondly, WHO GIVES A FK if someone is using AHK. its a PVE GAME!!!

Natey doesn't want someone calling in their stratagem 1 second faster than him or he'll lose his sh*t lol his mission will become to easy if that were to happen. Definitely the silliest response I've seen to not having AHK allowed in the game.

How about those of us that use it for the USE key? Gee what a concept, right!! other people that are not YOU, that use other keys for other functions in the game!!

Honestly, after 3 days of listening to others moan about AHK being a cheat, is beyond ridiculous, and those who think it is need to stop calling a key remapping tool a cheat.

I don't play left-handed, but I use Numpad for movement, and I surprisingly had absolutely no issues with HD's re-binding support, it even supports Numpad5 which makes me very happy. They bind with Numlock on or off just fine. *However* I generally do like to have AutoHotkey available for instance to be able to disable the Numlock key as in some games that can cause issues where an accidental press locks my character's existing movement.

It would be tempting to use it for quick keying common stratagems, and there are valid arguments on both sides:
- It is a PvE game and it can be argued that players can decide for themselves how much challenge they want to accept. Some players will relish the satisfaction of memorizing and executing stratagems quickly on the run, others not so much.
- It can be abused in other areas and arguably lessens some of the intended "stress" that the game should have.

though overall I am on the side of restricting its use to avoid exploitation and also keep the game a bit closer to how the developers intend. Unfortunately those that are more interested in min-maxing and exploiting anything they can get away with will always find a way through macro-recording keyboards and the like.

Look you AHK users have had it spelled out to you as to why its not allowed, hell I even gave as close to an example of a recoil script as I can without blatantly telling you how to do it.

Please by all means, tell us exactly how its cheating? We would love you here your idiotic theory. When you couldn't be more wrong!

You have to use hardware based macros outside of software, GameGuard have nothing to block doing that way, from it's perspective it looks like you are pressing normal keys.
