AutoHotKey No longer works!

Well that was the last and final straw for me, I'm done with this game. if the devs want to be anal, fine, it wont be at my expense. I wont spend another second in this game.

I'm left handed and need to have certain keys rebound to work properly in the game and the devs seem to now think that AutoHoKey is cheating. Its not, If you programmed the damn game correctly to begin with we would not have the need to use AHK.

For instance, have to change the Return key so I can use it as the use key. Enter opens the chant window, if you have this key as your use key, it also opens the chat window at the same time. Same goes for the Number Pad keys. You cant rebind those either without them also interfering with the DEL, END, PGDN, INS, HOME and PGUP keys. Its some of the laziest fricking programming I have ever seen from a developer.

Without being able to remap those keys, It literally impossible to play the game now.

let's say people are "cheating" in this way though? why does it matter? are you upset people call in an airstrike faster than you or resupply faster? when your cooldowns are seperate anyway. in what way does it affect you in a pve game. what a piece of ♥♥♥♥ arguement you guys have LOL. i'm not even using ahk aside from poe but this is just amazing, it's like having something against g.a.y people when you have nothing to do with them, garbage human beings

Well, you gotta admit that the execution is brilliant.
Wait a few days for the initial sales spike and the magical Steam 2 hour window, then roll out the changes to kill external accessibility tools.
Get rid of all the old and decrepit and those with tactile disabilities, improving server performance.

There was an update for AC driver. I'm sure they'll whitelist AHK later. No way they're gonna restrict AHK while allowing other soft/hardware options. I've personally used AHK to swap weapons, autorun and additional keybindings since such options don't exist in game.

AHK and similar high-capability macro/remappers are notorious for enabling cheating in shooter games. Although usually in ways that don't matter as much in Helldivers.

If you have big remapping needs you really should get a remappable keyboard.

Yeah in 2024 we shouldnt have all keys remappable in our games, you should use a remappable keyboard? You cant be serious.

im calling bs.

im left handed. i use enter, arrow keys, del, end, pgdn, ins, home and pgup... num7, num4, num3, num0, forward slash, and even hashtag...

the enter key is locked to chat, it happens in a few games. we are the odd ones, yet i embrace it, not blame the norm.

Regardless if AHK is considered cheating or not, OP has a point in that the devs should clearly state what is considered a cheat to them.

On another note it's kinda ridiculous to ban someone from the forum because of this... Says something about the devs as well... "Rub me in a wrong way and I'll ban you!"

AHK is absolutely used by cheaters. If you think it's not you are a dullard and a fact denier. Nothing anyone can say will sway you so there is no reason to argue with you.
