Everyone's playing this like one size fits all. Its not. Choose the right tool for the right job.
Because you can use a shield backpack and a railgun, and not need the rocket launcher.
i finished several missions on helldive with the laser against bugs... if there is a difference between bugs and automatons, its neglible.
I prefer either the shield backpack or a heavy weapon with ammo-pack. But the drones early on do help clear out smaller waves. 4 players with drones can easily fend off most bugs until the Chargers and Titans come out, simply by running around.
Correct. The Guard Dog will blow through its ammo shooting enemies behind terrain and blasting armour it can't penetrate. Then you can't rearm it using ammo from the map, and have to eat Supplies. And it takes 2 Supply Packs to fully reload it, too.
Meanwhile, the Guard Dog Rover can fire pretty much infinitely and does about as good of a job anyway.
I have to imagine the Guard Dog is bugged and also drastically under-tuned.
Wait the gun drone has limited ammo? I mean I know it needs to land to reload but I didn't know it can actually run out. I generally prefered the laser one, when you factor in the fact the assault rifle drone has to dock every 2-3 seconds of firing the laser just seems superior.
I think the joke was that it'll kill you so fast you won't feel it. I've only been killed by my own drone once so far. It actually does a decent job of trying not to kill the one its protecting, its actually better at avoiding friendly fire than most of my team mates tend to be.
Enemies? Eh... Better than average. I have only ever used laser and it is okay. Not great or awful, just okay.
Laserdog doesn't require reload but the constant fire can easly kill you or any team mate as it doesn't care where it's shooting.
