Yup. I've got a 7800 XT and more often than not I can't finish a mission because of driver timeout issues.
Also, the issue is from the 7000 series and that is to be expected... the drivers are pretty "fresh".
And not that Nvidia users are NOT having issues... there are issues all over the place with FRESH drivers too for a lot of people...
So, no, it's not "only" AMD cards...
I have a 7900xtx and did global illumination and AO, have my fps locked at 165 and hardly crash due to drivers. Its the game, not the card, this card is a beast!
Nvidia hardware get obsolete so much faster than AMD.
win+r type gpedit.msc then navigate to Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Manage updates offered from Windows Update > click Do not include drivers with Windows Updates and set to enabled.
This solves most issues for me.
AMD often crashes games or drivers cos AMD is not mainstream enough sometimes devs force thru wrong shaders on AMD gpu's you cant force NVIDIA shaders on AMD gpu's cos it causes issues, altho i assume most developers if not all of them are good enough to know how to program vendor= amd set shaders to AMD or vendor=NVIDIA set shaders to NVIDIA etc
If worked with developer before debuging sons of the forest had a shader that would cause driver time outs for many 7900 XTX users, they eventually fixed it, at some point got unfixed but now its in a fixed state again.
Just share your feedback do not be to harsch on AMD, unless your favorite game keeps crashing and you are frustated, but try to provide as much information as possible and remain polite, its obviously not intended the devs from the last of us part 1 had many crash fixes for AMD gpu's as well, looks like they'll have to debug this game as well, usually they manage to do that them self unless issue only effects some and they fail to reproduce it them self in rare case.
AMD drivers are sometimes my frustation as well especially in dying light 2 currently has rgb laser show bug with 7900 XTX in one specific cutscene and driver time outs, or world of warcraft that has been broken for 444+ days
or Elden Ring that exclusively crashes in fullscreen exclusive but not borderless but bassicly requires it for HDR
You just got to be lucky that driver devs also playing this game, and that its their favorite game or they will simply ignore it, in this case i doubt they ignore it tho.
There is also a preview driver of 24.2.1 the real 24.2.1 driver probably comes after weekend, driver is for helldivers 2 and has some improvements in stability does not mention its fixed, i think that would be inapropiate in this case since probably still has issues.

So, team red here, but I'm curious, why ?
AMD released the game ready driver for this game yesterday, they cant do anything more, its literally the devs problem to deal with.
