WTF is with these bot defense missions?
My bro and I did Gold and Platinum Mass Effect 3 multiplayer horde defense missions comfortably, but we get slaughtered on "trivial" on this game?

We've been gamers for decades and are no strangers to FPS games, we're good players. Not great, but good.

The rate at which we seem to be able to free the people is super slow and the rate at which we are swarmed is beyond absurd. "Trivial" should mean TRIVIAL. AKA, a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ complete and utter noob should be able to complete it.

Almost refunded do to that absurdity. Our first mission, no unlocks at all.

It's almost certainly bugged. Also call them the new escort missions, because calling them defense will just bring over a bunch of people who didn't read far enough and assume you're talking about the "kill x bots" ones.

Yeah I just got out of one where the drop ships of Automatons just kept coming. We had no time to breathe and there were so many heavies we couldn't kill them all quick enough. Heck I saw one dropship drop something like 10+ walkers it seemed like.
The bots must have hacked the servers. Right as I realized the civilians were jogging in place and said as much on chat, the mission abruptly crashed and kicked me to my ship solo.

Also, as an Earth Defense Force lover. Yeah bots seem a bit much when you can't reload your guns between dive rolls without a pick up. "okay I found my autocannon-wait where did my backpack ragdoll to"

Of course we once again see the cursed monkey paw wish of "People complaining thing too EZ" Sure a buggy mess is bad, but the 'fix' feels more like a passive aggressive tantrum than a fix.

Man, how do poor bastards who have not done their MMO taxes so can't bring an autocannon cope? Nobody is giving pro strats for bots for the level 1-4 crowd being bullied by the today's plot to go play against bots. Just screaming about railguns and other later grind toys.

100% agree, a diff 4 of one of these was mroe intense than a diff 9 bot mission. defo bugged. their discord has a support-help thread for enemy spawn rate, make a post in there too: https://discord.gg/YUWfPrXw

just dont spam F in the chat, they really hate that.
I tried the new mission on Trivial and that fairly easy. "Medium" was fine too. "Hard" was already too hard for "Hard".
23 was the most i saved on helldive diff, it was wild

You're comparing a game with a regenerative shield to one that has nothing of the sort though. Hell divers has reinforcements because it is infact easy to die and when you go in with no vitality enhancement, you double your chances at death.
"Hard" is basically a "Suicide Mission" difficulty (or even higher). The problem is that the enemies keep infinitely spawning with drop ships + from the sides of the map, so there is literally no breathing room and in addition trying to not kill the researchers when they run directly through the hell. And even if you defeat all the enemies, in matter of seconds the whole place is already filled in with a new patch of enemies.

The last game I just played had 5 Hulks roaming around and more kept spawning. Each drop had bunch of the rocket launcher guys as well.

The only way to win is to just keep spamming the buttons in hopes that the researchers get through.

I tried the "Extreme" difficulty but that was even worse with the cannons spawning in + tanks.

It's almost impossible to try and strategize with the overwhelming amount of enemies constantly spawning.

On gold/plat, you die super fast in ME3. Shield/regen or not.
I think it had a lot to do with "Pushing" the map. If we can just indefinitely defend those sectors, the enemies would never be able to reach the center of the map.

The spike from medium to challenging is what makes it clear that these are not balanced properly. You go from "harder than a normal mission, but still doable with ~3-4 players" to "jesus christ how many hulks and rocket devs are they sending" in an instant. Solo on medium is technically doable with enough turrets to cheese the mobs, but anything above it starts requiring absurd minmaxing like EMS spam...
We made a defense line to regain lost ground. So of course within seconds there was a drop landing behind our turrets.

10/10 would Gallipoli all over again.

Yeah those missions are insane. Compared to the bug missions they are multiple levels higher.

Just the sheer number of the hoards of bots that drop is untenable. Tried a couple of these tonight and barely succeeded in making it out alive alone with 91% and 94% accuracy just dropping bots left and right as fast as possible til running out of ammo in every single gun including the ones I picked up from entire team that died 4+ times each.

Bug missions of the same level are kind of boring, the bot mission? I made it out alive twice with entire team being dead and barely completing half of what was requested and it wasnt even fun, just annoying and overwhelming.

Just a heads up, yall can grenade/etc the walls near the facilities to provide the civies a direct AI path to the shuttle doors. You're welcome.
