This is an in universe quote, unreliable narrator applies here especially to probably heavily indoctrinated humans of 40k.....

Female custodes are based and not liking them is cringe ngl

I wander what chromosomes the MEN of stone and the MEN of iron have? If we are assuming all the MEN of gold have XY here?

For those of you upset by the female Custodes btw, please don't look up the lesbian subtext between Inquisitor Greyfax and Saint Celestine. It might explode your tiny little minds.

Female Custodes added, Army overall nerfed. What did GW mean by this?

Every other piece of custodes media avoids using male or female words to leave it ambiguous, the warhammer team came out a while ago saying that they would have put female custodes in the lore if not for a single higher up that wasn't letting them. There is no reason for female custodes to be a problem because, unlike astartes, they are genetically modified from childhood(so the stereotypical view of a woman won't apply because things like breasts would probably not even be there because they would get in the way). They didn't add female custodes to the lore to be "woke" or "feminist", they did it because they've been trying to for a while and are finally allowed to. Now if they added women astartes to the lore THAT would be a "woke" move because astartes are so hyped up on testosterone and organs that enhance masculine traits that any "female" astartes wouldn't even be a woman, they'd basically just be a man. Having said that, Custodes is different because there isn't a giant section of lore stating how women can't be custodes(One throwaway line from 2 editions ago does not count), and there are tangible and believable reasons as to why women could become Custodes. Think of it like this, you think a girl who is performing leagues above her male counterparts and is showing all the signs of becoming a great custodes warrior would be denied for the sole reason being that she is a girl? I do agree that if they make it so that it's always been a 50/50 split this whole time that's stupid, but that's not the case.

I dont understand the part where you said females could outperform males in this context. Trans-Athletes showed us that Men will always outperform women, if both sides are highly trained in the same physical Discipline: Male Swimmers or Male Martial Arts Athletes stomped these highly athletic and highly trained, very respectable women in their own discipline due to biological differences, as we can see in sports around the globe.
I wasn't saying that all women could outperform men in this context, I was just trying to say that if you want the best of the best for your elite warriors, and on of those best happens to be a female, you wouldn't just turn that down because it's a woman. This is the universe of the 41st Millennium so I am able to suspend my disbelief a little when it comes to this topic. I understand where you're coming from but I just don't see the issue with adding a few women to the custodes, the rules will barely change because of it and the only change the models will get is probably going to be a few head swaps.

Edit: Whether this is woke pandering or not I don't really mind because IMO they found a way to tangibly do it without stamping on any of the factions or their lore.

Arrowhead are already starting to ban people for demanding not adding political flags; i wouldn't want them to touch anything with a ten foot pole.

They did stamp on lore.

They did more than just that, they also insulted their customers by lying to them and claiming the chapter always had female space marines in it. Yet there is a lot of lore referencing the opposite and none that supported GWs claim.

Yikes, you should definitely avoid anything about Slaanesh as you get started in 40k.

A quick search on the 2 individuals shows that it is basically fan fiction memes. aka wishful thinking on those fans part. As for Slaanesh, a chaos faction in 40k that has demons that blend men and women into one. The faction/concept/Chaos god has been in the game for 30+ years and had nothing to do with politics at the time. In fact, given the current state GW is in, don't be surprised that the whole concept of gender hybrid demons disappears from 40k entirely.

Sisters of Silence already exist. There was always a female Counterpart to Custodes. This is not about women in the Throne Room, because there always were female Warriors present to protect Space King.

This is simply about an uninspired british Plastic Vendor, which should FIRE their PR Manager, fire that Storywriter and tell their american Shareholders Equality ALWAYS existed in the Throne Room!

Next Stop: Brotherhood of Silence!

I do agree that they handled it very poorly, but the concept of adding females to custodes is okay IMO. Did you mean to say space marines? Because we're not talking about space marines and adding women to space marines WOULD be very stupid.

That's just it there was always an equal number of organizations in the Imperium that where exclusive. Male only Custodes and Space Marines. Female only Sister of Silence and Sisters of Battle. I now want Misters of Silence and Misters of Battle.

ummm...

"The Adeptus Custodes, known as the Legio Custodes during the era of the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy, and colloquially as the "Ten Thousand," is the Imperial adepta responsible for protecting the Imperial Palace and the physical body of the Emperor of Mankind, as well as serving as His most important emissaries, His companions, and the keepers of His many secrets. The Custodes is an elite cadre of genetically-engineered transhuman warriors who are even more potent in combat than the Adeptus Astartes. They are to the Space Marines as the Emperor is to His primarchs, and it is rumoured that each was created by the Master of Mankind personally. His might permeates them, burns in their eyes and flows through their veins as surely as their blood. As such, the Adeptus Custodes are widely regarded as the deadliest warriors in the galaxy, Human or otherwise." --Adeptus Custodes Wiki

They are advanced space marines. There is so much lore supporting the fact that they are only men, from them only taking the sons of nobles for the Custodes to all the art work since the 80s being of male Custodes. Let's not forget that the process to become a space marine is not an easy one and that only men survive that.

But it isn't really about people liking or not liking the fact that there are now female space marines. It is more about how it is being handled by GW. That is the primary issue. Not respecting lore, lazily shoehorning women into a chapter and then lying. As I stated earlier in the thread, they should have just made a brand new chapter of women space marines and claimed they were the emperor's pet project that he kept hidden. But I have a suspicious feeling that all the new codexes and models will include female space marines. They are basically gutting the lore to push RW politics.
