I hear he's randomised slightly or it could just be a graphics glitch. I wish they'd lean into it more and randomised the entire crew appearances for each ship. It'd add to the feeling each ship is unique while getting the people complaining about some made up anti white bias to finally shut the hell up.

They should let us build/hire our own crew and customize them with requisition. Would give me and the other 75% of helldivers who are always capped on req something to do with it.

Turn up brightness and switch colour temperature on monitor to 'cool', then stab your monitor with a screw driver.

It seems to be randomly generated. My democracy officer is a black guy w/ an eyepatch. Out of all my friends' games, i've never seen a white guy in one of the major crew roles. Person that greets you at the hangar is always the buzz-cutted black lady with a randomized name
