Report a translation problem
I've never seen anything disappear, but you can zoom in and out to make it easier to see certain things. You won't see samples on the map that haven't been found yet... (other than the point of interest icons) only ones that have been dropped. If someone picks them back up, they are not on the map anymore, they are on that player.
Personally I changed the map to a hold action rather than a toggle which helped.
We really need something like a UAV to help locate sample locations. Some maps are really difficult to locate samples. I don't think I have ever found all available rare samples on a map, usually only 50% or so.
Note that on the map the big Diamond indicates samples or a weapon. Once you pick up all samples and identify any stash weapon (adds specific weapon indicator to the map) the icon updates to the smaller card suite diamond pin.
