Jump pack is fun and surprisingly viable
As much as we would all like an actual jet pack I’m having a lot of fun with the jump pack. I feel like it’s a bit underrated once you get used to all the ways you can use it, if this thing can at least get a buff for slightly faster recharge even if only a few seconds it would probably become my new main backpack.

I want to like it. It just doesn't suit my style of play to warrant bringing it. I think if I could accurately shoot while jumping, I could see myself using it more often.

Also if it had a dash mechanic, maybe using half the fuel cost, that would be pretty cool

Uptime isn't nearly high enough to be viable.

Jump pack has always been viable. Even at Helldive. Even before it was buffed. Mobility and positioning are paramount in this game.

One small issue though

I cannot use it alongside my trusty Autocannon

1/10

Three basic jump pack rules:

1) Only wear light armor
2) Only hit it while sprinting
3) Hit it off as high of an object as you can, or down an incline

Those 3 things right there will vastly extend the range on this thing, and once you learn the actual jump height you can get to places you simply can not get to otherwise which, if you're halfway smart, is a huge deal.

Would I bring it on a bot mission though? No, I would not, and it's because movement doesn't matter as much when the enemy can just shoot you in the face.

Jump pack is my #2 favorite backpack item, and I almost can't believe that people think it's bad.

May be an unpopular opinion but i quite like it for the bots, getting out of vulnerable positions is still pretty decent vs automatons, you can get on a rock and use it for safety, jetpack away from the frontline, get a nice vantage point to shoot down objectives, and my personal favorite: using it to easily traverse/ run/ sneak through a base solo, may not be as good as the shield pack or supply pack but i think it’s definitely a sleeper backpack, people needed time with it to figure out how to make it useful if it got a slight recharge and height buff i would have a hard time taking the thing off 😂

I actually didn’t know this! Makes sense

personally ill never use it but my son never dives without it. It needs a buff imo, just not worth a strat slot

You play helldivers with your son? So patriotic it brings a tear to my eye, wish my dad was that cool lol. But yea It’s pretty good for solo against bots but once u get a enemies on you you definitely feel the lack of firepower and tank-iness that shield generator and supply packs provide. I’m just biased towards it because when you actually make some use out of it you feel so damn cool, love jump packing into a base destroying fabs and jetting out like i just did a drive by. It’s strange it isn’t better due to how key mobility is in this game, it just needs more of it.
