And pretty much useless with all the damn fog on all planets.
Right now you are better off with AC than with AMR.
AMR is my first choice for automatons. Followed by AC, if there's -1 strat modifier.
I'm using railgun from time to time, but the only good thing about it is that you can stagger hulk even if you miss its visor. Usually, it gives enough time to reload and make another shot.
No idea what you mean. Ran yesterday with it as main weapon and took out the biggest threats on the field steadily with > 83% accuracy.
A basic auto-rifle clears actual crowds of regular bots faster, and at just as much range.
Though it's surprisingly close to equaling the autocannon in terms of actually killing things, at least assuming you haven't figured out some way to actually use the automatic mode. Slightly worse on striders, and I think it doesn't stagger devastators, but it's comparatively easy to handle and might even be better at face-shooting hulks.
Takes more shots to blow turrets, which is a bit of a drawback, but it still can do it if you get it right.
Sure, Quasar isn't a direct replacement for the AMR, but that works both ways.
And while it worked for the most part, there were occasions when patrol spawns would pop up behind me and be drawn to the sound of my gun and that would catch me off guard from time to time - but not everyone wants a ranged support player; was doing rather well in one map covering the other 3 players as they darted around the map but they ended up kicking me :/ dno if it was because they thought i was afk or something or what but since then i've just kept the laser cannon on hand and have that medium support range where people can actually see me contributing, lol
My usual loadout for bots is Defender/Ballistic Shield/AMR/Stun. It has never let me down and I need the backpack slot for my loadout to function properly, so AMR was a natural choice.
