Explosive crossbow

its actuali top tier weapon i dont know why people grade it soo low
+it has explosion radius of like 2-2,5 m its soo easy to hit things with it
+it kills small enemies in the explosion radius in 1 hit
+it fires fast,reloads fast and aims easily
+kills the walker bots and devastators easily from the front
+decent damage to heavy units weakpoints (i tested hulks so far)
+has loads of ammo ( 5 in clip 1,5-2 sec for each shot, 12 clips )

- cant destroy objectives/fabricators
- skill in aiming but you can reliably hit second shot on long distance if oyu use the first shot as reference

when i shoot it in group of enemies it gets 4-6 kills in 1 shot i even had 16 kills hapen
it can kill devastators in like 3 shots or even 1 if you hit the head
it does good damage in area even to medium targets

All i Can say is the dev's have some weird thought process on what constitutes an explosion, bit of advice for them hire a damn american pref republican they seem to know about guns and such.

It's actually great. It's handling and accuracy are top tier, kills packs of hunters just by shooting in their general direction. Even kills spewers relatively well, crowd controls everything else. Kills chargers in a few shots to the abdomen. It's basically plasma punisher with much greater range, accuracy, damage, aoe and handling speed

The reason why the nade pistol and Eruptor are so good is because they can destroy holes and fabs, and open container doors while being decent weapons. It opens up more build options.

The crossbow is just a worse GL with relatively poor performance vs. heavier enemies due to poor penetration. Stuff like Commanders and Bile Spewers eat way too many shots.

It doesn't solve an actual problem or fill a relevant niche so it's very much just mediocre, and mediocre is basically just bad.

Would've been a good one-handed weapon. It's not bad vs. bots. Now combine that with a Ballistic Shield and you've got something worth using. It's a real shame it can't kill tanks and cannons though.

The only thing this weapon does better than anything else in the game is destroying eggs. I know that the weapon is listed as dealing 400 dmg, but it just doesn't pack a punch without armor penetration.

Because it is unmitigated trash. The bullet drop is insane and the fire rate so slow, ice ages have passed quicker. It is absolutely unusable on anything beyond "Challenging"

I'd rather use Adjudicator than to ever pick crossbow again.
And since Adjudicator can 2 hit kill berserkers while crossbow struggles.....

the crosbow kills the entire group in 3+ hits lol

I've done little testing, but it penetrates chargers' legs, so right now 2-3 shots to the same leg will kill a charger from the front.
I also had great success shooting under the charger - my best so far was 1 direct hit to the bum and 4/5 under the charger for the kill (shot them while he was running at me, then hit him once on the back once he missed)

not everybody has the same taste. heck i love the Ballistics Shield strategem but it is almost never that i see anybody else running with it. to each their own. if someone else cant understand the glory to be had with your preferred methods then they are simply missing out.

dont worry about it too much. a lot of people simply enjoy what they are used to and like a lucky rabbits foot are afraid to leave home with out it.

because it does explosive damage yet it doesnt do explosive damage? why on earth cant it destroy bug holes orso. its explosive. it makes no sense.

I'm convinced anyone who said the crossbow is good only used it against bots.
You'd stop running your mouth as soon as brood commanders become a problem
