500kg bomb & bile titans
Why doesn't the 500kg bomb one-shot bile titans?

The stratagem's short introductory clip (in the ship management menu) shows that it can blow up a bile titan in one go.

Why doesn't it do that anymore?

Have you made sure that the 500KG is directly underneath the Bile Titan? That usually does it.

It does, you just have to throw it at your feet or slightly in front of yourself and the titan will waddle its merry ass over it perfectly, providing it's following you

If it's following someone else, just throw the 500 on their head, it'll work itself out

Theres a weird host rule about fire dot… maybe something similar to this but for explosions? Idk.

It's does, but you got to be REALLY precise and land it almost directly under the Titan to kill it...which is not how 500kg bomb work but this is AH "balance" so...

Why should what is basically a small nuclear bomb be right underneath the titan to kill it?

Damage fall off for explosions. You can reduce it with an upgrade but it still has to be pretty direct, however it still dies pretty quick if you don't directly nail it, I find a few shots is good enough after 1.

Must have been over representative in the bile titan kill area and was brought more in line with the shotguns

It *can*, it's just not reliable. You can sometimes get it to lodge into the titan too, which also looks great.

Maybe because it's not a mini-nuke at all? If it was, we'd have to be further away from it to avoid the blast radius.

For all we know, it could just be a really big bomb packed with a lot of explosives which is why we are able to throw it more frivolously danger-close.

Yeah it's not.. nuclear. But it's a huge ass bomb. Not a shaped charge. The entire point of a big bomb is a big boom. Otherwise you would use devastating precision weapon like the orbital railgun

My point is its so anticlimatic to have a big bomb that has the blast radius of a frag grenade

At this point, I'm just as in the dark as you are. The devs made it like a shaped charge when it should be a bigger explosion.

It's a lot like the Orbital Precision Strike in that it has a massive delay. Only some of the delay from the deployment is deferred to the detonation once it impacts with the ground/target. It requires so much lead time for a good result you almost have to time travel in your mind.

The detonation graphic is not consistent with it's actual effect radius. More bark than bite, but it still bites hard.

I have stopped using the 500KG bomb in bug missions and in favor of just the basic eagle strike. Still does decent damage to heavies, 3 uses with the upgrade, and comes back FAST after 3 uses for another round.

Great for clearing bug holes once you learn how to line it up accurately as it drops in a straight line. Great for clearing a swarm of enemies, and I find if I drop it on bile titan one follow up quesar head shot will kill it (usually). Just infinitely more useful then 500KG imo.

Don't tell me that it's because of the host fire dot bug...

Okay. I just went on a solo bile titan elimination mission. I threw the 500kg bomb on both of the titans. They both died on the first try.

This directly contradicts my previous experience - when I joined other people's lobbies the titans didn't die on the first 500kg bomb. I usually had to finish them off with a second one or some other stratagem/support weapon.

This can't be happening because of my 500kg bomb's placement because I mastered the timing and I know how to bait the titans into their stomping attacks. The bomb lands directly under them. Basically what I'm trying to say is that the issue is not with me.

I suspect that the host fire damage bug isn't only tied to fire damage...

Yeah, I suspect there are lots of hidden bs rules like this.
