Explosive Crossbow sucks bad!

i kind of agree, like. its close to being okay in my opinion? but it needs a bigger AOE or something as it just doesnt feel quiet right.

Sounds like a Jester Farmer. No context, all complaint in an aggressive way.

Like I said in a thread I created about the crossbow, the biggest issue currently is that reload bug sometimes giving me one round instead of a full mag.

His AOE is huge, monstrous, it just doesn't show up as an effect.

In that case: AC sucks too! Super bad! Needs lots of buffs so that I never have to pick anything el--uh, so that it's actually worth taking!

I would say it is closer to a Scorcher. Except a bigger AOE and it is probably considered silenced. The projectile is slower and drops off so it will have a shorter range in comparison. The Scorcher seems like it is probably still the best main weapon in the game still.

I have been playing with the scrorcher and I really hate that weapon. For me the slugger is 10 times better even with the nerf

I'm a bit perplexed/annoyed with some of the choices they made with it, such as:
- feel like it should also work on bug holes and fabricators like the eruptor
- it supposedly does 420 damage (compared to impact grenades 400) but doesn't pop bile spewers the way impact grenades do

So I don't know how often I'll use it. But I don't think it sucks. It is solid at dispursing groups of smaller enemies. And it offers a unique shooting experience. So I'll probably use it from time to time as a change of pace when I want my primary to be good at spreading damage out among smaller enemies.

I like more versatile main weapon. One that I can use at long and mid range. If I remember correctly the slugger is more of a mid to short range weapon.

I guess it depends on what enemies you want to prioritize. Slugger is better at popping devastator heads. Scorcher is better at taking striders from front on. You can also use it to two-tap tanks and laser canon towers in conjunction with the quasar. So its a really powerful primary weapon. But the slugger has its place as well.

It's a primary grenade launcher designed around clearing trash mobs, if you bring it knowing what it's good at you'll like it. Don't expect to be killing anything larger with it, for that bring a support weapon.
