Laser Cannon is Fantastic against Bots
I just want to put it out there and maybe get a few people to look at it differently.

The Laser Cannon has been my go to ever since the introduction of gunships. It can take down 4 within one charge if you aim for the engines bringing them down incredibly quick. So I thought I'd check it on other targets.

Hulks - Maybe not the quickest, but it can take it down about as quickly as a Quasar with eye shots.
Tanks and Cannon Turrets - If you're properly behind it, it can take those out extremely quick
Devestators - Head shots and its down within a second.

It's in my opinion the most jack of all trades weapon to fight with against the bots. Will I swap to the Railgun on defense or hold out missions? Yah, since what it does exceptionally well (i.e. Gunships) aren't present, but if you're looking for something that will allow you to solo Gunship Factories, and still give you a lot of room for other enemies, the Laser Cannon is the weapon you should bring.

The problem with the laser cannon is that you have to stand still against targets like heavy/rocket devastators and bruiser hulks which is not an option and will get a rocket to your face almost every time. It's great against units at long range but lacks the accuracy to benefit from weakpoints minus the heatsink variety and it's a liability to use in close range against those specific targets without any kind of stagger.

Literally skill issues. It's all placement, timing your cover, and aim. Surprisingly effective against hulks from the front and without requiring a bit of ammo. You can fallback to your primary for close engagements or faster TTK.

Makes me feel very vulnerable against scout striders, just standing around for them to volley at me, but it is very very good against hulks. I give it an above average rating, but I prefer bullets or explosions.

When you don't want to cannon striders, whip out the scorcher and 2-shot the scout walker in its crotch. Easiest way in the game to deal with them. Lol I don't know how people manage in this game. They bring things like dominator or sickle to bots when it's clearly worse than the ability to eat scout striders for breakfast and 1-shot all small bots. Doesn't even do badly against devastators. Obliterates the backside of hulks in less than half a mag.

Sounds to me like you are describing an experience in something other than helldive. Pushing into loaded stratagem disruptor with a laser cannon is almost suicidal. You need burst damage and the ability to stagger at close range. The sickle that people use are for the troopers that spawn in an insane group of 15-20 and the berserkers that comes in a pack of 6 or more.

Kinda never found the gunships a problem autocannon takes them out super quick, AMR takes them out quick, even the scorcher takes them out pretty quick and it's a primary. Eruptor also apparently blows them up easily. I was already bringing AMR, autocannon, or scorcher along anyway against bots since they work well against everything too.

Ok, wtf.
You're not supposed to stay in the open and shoot it. Find a cover, turn to ADS and peek slightly.
Also how does it lack accuracy when it's 100% accurate and has 0 recoil?

You can take down Striders easily by focusing the underbelly from up-front. Sure it takes over a second of focused fire to make them fall - but it works.
