Purpose/Use for Thermite Grenade?

Tooltip states they can 'burn through armor,' and 'stick to surfaces.'

So I assumed, stick it to heavy enemy and burn them that way. Little did I know that 'surfaces' literally only means... surfaces... because it bounces right off of enemies as if it were a normal grenade.

Am I missing something?

Attached two at once on a Hulk. Got to watch the fireworks slowly burn him to death before blowing him to bits.

They also work on turrets, and probably also tanks and chargers

the spikes take a good second to deploy before they can stick, and i "think" that because its rotating in air sometimes the non-spike side hits first making it bounce. Ive found consistent sticks happen when you hit armored bugs in the little gaps in their armor instead of directly on, so the chargers shoulder or back ridges (or its butt), or the side of a spewers head. It's damage really isn't as good as it should be vs the bugs and if you accidently hit a hunter there's a 90% chance it pounces on you, killing you instantly with the burning damage + its hit. In my opinion it's the worst grenade, but gonna keep playing with it to maybe figure something out.
