The short, short version. Bask is a community manager for the developer. For a time people were asking for political flags for a certain subculture to be added to the game. This caused people who do not subscribe to that culture to ask for it to not be added to that game. This happened not only on the Steam forums where the developer does not police it, but apparently on the discord for the developers/for the game. There were reports coming to Steam from random users that people on both sides were being banned.

Fast forward to the controversy. On Bask's private, not so private, X account. The job Bask has is in the X bio, so that means that the individual's X account also represents their company on X. It would be like wearing your work shirt off the clock and talking to people. Anyways, the CM basically said that bans were not happening for the ones that want flags and everyone that didn't want flags are not welcome in the community along with a bunch of name calling that typically would be against TOS on the majority if not all forums.

It was already explained earlier, you are deflecting and not approaching the conversation in a honest way. You are more focused on the ideology and less focused on the conduct of an employee.
