The longer you stay in one spot the more small bugs will call in the swarms.
At difficulties 8 and 9 you can EASILY hold your ground and wipe bug breaches and bot drops IF your team has crowd control weapons instead of all AT.
The issue is that people get upset when their primaries get nerfed and they can't singlehandedly wipe hordes anymore, but they'll refuse to consider actual crowd control support weapons/stratagems.
Even on difficulty 10 you can hold waves back, you do not have to constantly be sprinting even vs bugs if at least one of you brought something like a machine gun.
It IS wise however to eliminate the fast moving enemies and try to retreat away from the bug breach.
Big difference between that and holding sprint for 30min though, you don't have to do that if you bring the right gear.
The game has 4 man teams for a reason, if you have 4 people running AT you WILL have a running backwards simulator. even when split into duos I tend to find one AT player and we wind up clearing map while the AT+AT combo wastes all of our re-spawns.
the EAT's are there just in case and the last stratigem you might as well bring your favourite H-AT but really it doesn't matter if your keeping at least one AT player stocked up on ammo. last couple of helldives I did were played like this and I forgot I had a 500kg in my pocket after a while as i just wasn't using my AT.
It's not a bug, per se but it's possible to get in the infinite circle of hurting where the spawned bugs calls in the reinforcements for another breach. Or where you fight for so long that a patrol bumps to you and calls it.
Proceeds to a higher difficulty, complains thats its now too hard...
If you want an easier time, select a lower difficulty
If you want a harder time, select a higher difficulty.
Its as simple as that
you are there to complete the objectives.
stop picking fights with every enemy you see and move quicker.
the enemy spawns are supposed to be in the way of that.
Machine gun+supply pack, usually a 500kg and a gas strike.
The gas strike is purely a bonus to cripple swarms, 500kg can take out heavies in the rare instances where i'm completely alone and have to kill them.
Most people bring AT and they WILL focus on heavies, try playing crowd control/support.
It's really fun too, makes you feel like a living sentry gun and as a nice bonus you can resupply your teammates running AT.
You don't have to be fully all-round.
If you focus on crowd control and slightly sacrifice your AT capabilities you'll be surprised how all round your team is.
