Has anyone found a workaround for 100% CPU usage yet?
Besides turning down graphics and not using the frame limiter? OR does anyone happen to know if they're working on it, and hopefully releasing a fix soon?

If you don't want your CPU to sit on or peak at 100% usage, change your power profile settings in Windows to cap the CPU at 99%. This seems to limit the boosting behaviour of Ryzen chips as well, and I was able to prevent overheating of the CPU until my new cooler arrived using this method.

What are you talking about?

Doing these things will increase your CPU usage. You need the unload onto your card by turning vsync off and UPPING your graphics settings.

its not an issue on all cpus

Thank you Captain Obvious. Nobody said that it was all CPUs, nor did anybody say that it was all Ryzen CPUs. But thank you for your contribution.

If your CPUs overheat then it is a hardware problem. Cooling is not performing enough to allow you to use 100% of your CPU power.

I've liquid cooled so no matter if the CPU work at full, my temp don't go up over 50-55 ^^ why spent a ton ♥♥♥♥ of money of ultra mega pro Nvidia GPU if you later use a standard air cooler xD No sense at all xD

i have an intel cpu, yet only this game maxes it out lol. Ill try and see about limiting the power settings.

VSYNC is off, because i never use it in any game, and i am running a 4080 on a 2k monitor yet it was still running the cpu at 100% because helldivers specifically uses 70% of it.

mine is liquid cooled, i just dont want the lifespan to be shortened because of high usage ALL the time lol.

Yeah, turn the game off.
CPU goes straight down! it's amazing.

So you don't actually care about limiting CPU usage?

You just want to publicly complain about a non-issue?

Why?

Yes my 3800x use this 99% max for this game, run stills great and cooler only 55C.

That's fair but if your CPU is really at 100% it is because you have a weak CPU (or too weak to handle this game) and that you are actually using all its power to run the game. I've build this very computer I'm talking to you with in the scope of using it to play mainly strategy and simulation games and my CPU has been capped at maximum capacity for a noticeable amount of time (mainly due to the very nature of those games, you always hit the cap at one point even with a beefy CPU) and never noticed a difference.

A CPU and a GPU are meant to be running 100% without problems. Like I've already said, if it is overheating then it is a hardware issue and the most notable culprit is cooling not performing enough. If you haven't done it already a good cleanup really help. And thermal paste, on average, need to be replaced every two years or so.

This isn't quite true. Obviously if you had infinite compute it would be fine, but a lot of people are facing a problem where the game shoots to 100% and then crashes miserably. The CPU spike is usually caused by a lot of enemies on screen or a lot of stratagems going off. I have a friend with Intel where this happens who is using Windows, I'm on a Ryzen in proton, etc.

I have this problem so I set the resolution to native and lock the frames at 120fps. If I play D9 I have to set the FPS to 60. That gives enough "breathing room" for all the NPCs and whatever else is eating CPU to do its thing.

Wonky game engine is wonky.

You obviously don't understand how CPU demanding games work. There is no magic options like DLSS for CPU usage.

But boy do I wish there was.

Nah friend. You are not struggling with the antique game engine. Set the resolution to native and you reduce CPU usage. You can try it yourself.

Don't forget that this is from an unsupported game engine they used for the first helldivers in 2015.... It has all the same bugs as the original.

To return the insult, you obviously don't know how software works, I guess.

Been using and playing CPU heavy games since 20 years. You can think whatever you want, I'm used to people not knowing the ABC of those type of games.
