Not showing I'm "On Ship"

So all of my friends on my friends list show up as "On Ship" and they don't have any problems join each other's squads. Whereas I show up as "Online" and I am un-joinable and I cannot join any of them. This has been an issue non-stop for me. I haven't played in like 5 days due to this issue. What is going on? Holy crap I just wanna shoot some bugs.

Yeah, my friend's social tab works and has me added, but on my side it still says the friend request is pending and that I don't have him added. I can join his friends only lobby, but he can't join mine.

Supposedly the next update will fix the crossplay issues and social tab issues. Hopefully that'll solve or atleast alleviate some peoples social tab being all wacky.

Constant disconnects are annoying too.

I had similar issues when I started playing. Changing settings in Steam Privacy settings so friends list is "public" addressed the issues for me. Check your Steam settings, change friends list privacy to public if it isn't already and see if that resolves the issues.

I was having similar issues and as soon as I turned off cross-play, I don't have issues with inviting people or matchmaking. Not sure if this is a fool-proof solution, but it worked for me

My wife is having this issue. Her friends list is public, her profile is public, cross-play is off, Windows Firewall is disabled... still no joy.

Starting to really resent dropping $80 on this piece of 💩

Yeah this is wild. Took a bit of a break since Dragon's Dogma 2 released. Attempted to hop back on with some friends and I am still the only one that cannot join anyone or be joined. All my friends show "On ship" but I show as "Online" to them. The only consistent work around is re installing the game. But eventually my game defaults back to this silly crap. I can't bring myself to believe that that's what I'm going to need to do anytime I want to play this game. I love it, but it doesn't love me. Here's to hoping that this gets addressed. I only fear that I am one of only a few that this plaguing and the dev's don't notice it because it isn't a mass issue.

My friend system never worked, at first I got the "pending" tab full of unacceptable recieved requests and fake sent ones, but a couple of days ago I noticed that cleared as well.

I also noticed my recent players list doesn't work anymore too, and the blocklist is empty.

I just resigned to pretending the in-game system doesn't exist, there's only steam.

Just to keep this thread relevant, since there has been multiple updates to the game including 2 new warbond updates. I am still having the "Online" not "On ship" issue, which prevents me from joining anyone's game and prevents anyone from joining mine. One of these days this issue will get looked at Im hoping.

Yep nothing changed despite patch notes saying otherwise.
Actually, my block list used to work and it stopped at some point. Haven't bothered to check if it started working again.

Just did a mission for the 4 chargers daily, block list is completely clear and if I add a new one it doesn't show.

friend of mine has this issue, but its because he fiddled with steam privacy settings.

dunno what he did but occasionally this issue happens.

Have them set game details to public or friends only as well. This was the final setting that fixed my friend not being able to join my squad, you need both Friends list and Game details viewable

This is what solved the issue for me since when my friend pulled up my ID in social I only showed online and the option to join my squad was greyed out

Steam Players: View My Profile > Edit Profile > Privacy Settings > My profile set to public > Game details set to public or friends only > Friends List set to public.

I also tried the following instructions, I'm not sure if it did anything as I don't have any friends playing on PS5 but I figured it couldn't hurt

For those that linked your Steam accounts to the PS network, this fix is for you.
Step 1. log into your playstation account.
Step 2. open your account and go to "privacy settings" > "friends/connections". set the following:
*Friends-friends only or anyone
*friend requests-Anyone
*team invitations-Anyone
Step 3. select "personal info/messaging" and set the following:
*Online status and now playing-friends only or anyone
*crossplay invitations-allow
I also enabled in the "Gaming/Media" section Activities and Gaming History to anyone.
