What is the point of limb damage? Is it just for show?

I mean it's not really integrated into the game very well. As soon as you get limb damage, you press the medkit button and it instantly goes away. If you don't have anymore stims and you have limb damage, well you're probably pretty close to dying and respawning with a fresh 4 stims. It just feels like an unsupported mechanic.

I have a feeling they gonna rework this at some point or add something significant that would change how we use our stims, like health regeneration booster.

if your arms are damaged it affects aim and throwing, if your legs go red it means you are hobbled or cant run, that in particular is pretty bad especially while bug swarmed. if your torso is mangled you could bleed to death, which can happen if you are one tap or stun locked.
