You clearly know nothing.
To Gaz, they're absolutely right that you don't know what you're talking about. They didn't stop any cheaters from bringing statagems before they were unlocked, from getting 99 of every sample type at mission end, or from having zero cooldowns on statagems. I've ran into people doing literally all of that, and it's still 100% possible if you're running HD2 on a different OS than Windows, where the rootkit nProtect GameGuard anti-cheat doesn't even need to be launched.
The only thing GameGuard has done is ruin computers, literally bricking hardware for people, and ruin performance for those lucky enough to not have it crashing things. If you've managed to avoid having issues with it, good for you.
And as far as I'm aware they've still said nothing past that initial "We'll look into switching, maybe."
Nprotect still loads under linux. Difference is that it's not running in kernel mode which is a massive positive.
Wait, you mean it because of "anticheat"? I constantly have crashes with AMD GPU and no idea how to fix it.
That was a rhetoric question made only to disregard and ridicule opinion right away.
My friend runs an AMD and he solved some of his crashes by installing the game his boot drive. Other than that, I dunno, good luck?
So basically anyone who wants to cheat can just go around it with Linux? And I thought it was already ridiculous...
Of course he does know what he is talking about. Have i had crashes with the game? yes. did i sort it myself without blaming the anticheat? yes.
for the record, first time i updated my video drivers, second time i verified my files and re-acquired the 3 that didn't validate.
I will give actual money to anyone who can prove that the anticheat is the cause of their issues.
crashing, and then saying it was "obviously" the fault of nprotect, is not proof.
