Plasma punisher no longer explosive

so yesterday I used the plasma shotgun to open containers and blow up hives but now it cannot do either, was this just a bug? I cannot reproduce the effect at all. I thought this was intended, because now the gun is not very good (in line with most of the guns).

That had to have been a bug, I've never been able to get it to blow open containers or hives.

Never had it do that and I extensively played with it day 1 because funny gun

They never could do that, only grenade launcher could do that. Their damage type is explosive meaning they are 100% effective against squishy bug parts.

it's shame, because it would have been interesting if it was plasma grenade launcher

5 shots on chargers butts, about 3 shots on Nursing Spewers, its really effective against units with heavy armor but soft bits

You can do it with the slugger or grenade type explosives. not with the punisher plasma, you've surely hit something random or an explosion at the same time

usually there are those red barrels that you can shoot and if you toss em close to the containers they can help you open em

That weapon was in danger of being fun and useful. Had to make sure it's neither.

Growing really tired of the dev's decisions, especially weapons.
