As for how to deal with the stalkers themselves is to spot them from far away and shoot before they close the distance, otherwise take the L,heal and shoot them again.
You don't need a breaker
you just need to be able to aim
Legs are also kinda somewhat valid spots if you can blow them off for like, most bugs that don't have heavier armor.
Stalkers also like 9/10 times with their knockback don't even kill you and actually save you from being killed by them, in my experience.
If your primary runs out of ammo in the mag, you can always switch to the secondary to finish it or at least do enough damage to scare it away. You should always be using the Redeemer btw. All other secondaries suck. You can fire it while moving in any direction, no need to hold down the zoom button to aim. Sometimes the stalker's attacks wont have enough range if you're doing this.
Whenever I see one start looking around me every few seconds trying to catch them in the distance as they often very visible and stick out against the fog. I keep harassing them while chasing to the lair and if any gets too close the breaker blends them rather quickly.
I actually enjoy the mechanic, just be careful of not tunneling while giving chase because they tend to be in greater numbers than you think every time. It's like the raptors and the hunter scene near the end of Jurassic Park, be mindful so you don't get clever-girled and be quick on the dive.
The automatic pistol is also very good at mashing anything extremely quickly if you unload a full mag with decent control. It saves quite often if not forgotten.
Scorcher kills them ridiculously fast too btw.
Don't even need to hit head really with that one.
That just annoys me and I wanted to say it.
