if its a BSOD likely a corrupted driver.
if it just freezes Likely temperature.
no game or software ( outside of OC / UV tools ) can do this .
I have a hx1000i the temps of it nearly hit 71c while playing so id suggest look at the PSU and other temps like others have suggested to do
The best place to start is looking at the 'Event Viewer', which you can find by typing 'Event Viewer' into your windows search bar, which you can access after you press the windows key.
Once it is open, fullscreen it, click on the 'Custom Views' drop down arrow, then click 'Administrative Events'. Once you have selected that, drag the top edge of the info panel at the bottom of the window to fill around half of the window.
Now look for items in the list, listed as 'error' they will have a red circle with a '!' in the centre. Every time you click one, check the info panel for the offending program or instance, you will want to find ones that mention Helldivers 2.
These will be easier to find because a 'Critcial' error should be close by, which will be your PC shutting down unexpectedly. These should be just after the Helldivers 2 'Error'.
Now, once you have found Helldivers 2, look at the events just before the Helldivers 2 'Error'. Sometimes these may even be a yellow 'Warning' event.
The next step is to read the info panel for the closest events leading up to the Helldivers 2 one. If they aren't clear on what exactly is causing the problem, there will be an 'Event ID' with a number.
Type into Google "Event ID XXXXX" (X being the number). Sometimes the 'Event ID' will cover multiple things, in this case, you will need to trouble shoot each possible issue to make sure.
Once you have found out what the 'Event ID' is related to, you can try googling the related PC part with that same ID. Sometimes it might show someone else with the same problem and the solution.
TL;DR - Event Viewer and Google can help figure out what might be wrong with a game or your PC. Put the Event ID into Google and troubleshoot the problem. Sometimes Googling your PC parts with the Event ID helps.
In my case it was AMD drivers that DDU didn't clean up properly, a bad windows update that broke windows and my BIOS not using the XMP profile correctly. (Yes, it was annoying figuring out what was causing all my problems with 3 different things that broke at the same time. -_-)
--use-d3d11
it is no overheat or weak PSU, you can turn to max the graphics this way, thank me later
intel i5-12400f + rx7600 8gb ,newly install os (win11) random shutdown occurs.
only way to play now without random shutdown is to play with --use-d3d11
i think it is 100% avoid ramdom-shutdown only crash to desktop which is rarely occur.
oh PSU Tt toughpower 850w gold.
CPU and GPU both are around 75c. (closed loop cooling for CPU)
32GB DDR5.
so yeah. it is software.
A shut down is always a sign of a hardware issue. And just because you have a 850W PSU doesnt meant hat it works properly. I have had beQuiet DarkPowerPro11s fail on me randomly at a 500W load.
It honestly made me repaste my CPU (It had been a few years) when I saw the temps. Didnt really change much its just the game and lack of optimization.
It however should not be shutting down/crashing your system.
I have an 850 watt Gold rated PSU. Just sharing that to be transparent.
My hardware has not changed in any way including my PSU. The fixes I have applied are all software driven. If my HW was old, broken, or defective I could not play the game at MAX settings all graphics features enabled at 4K.
My HW should fail under load when using these settings and it does not.
I am very sure the game has issues and very glad I found free and easy software solutions for those problems as opposed to spending thousands to replace PC parts that are perfectly fine running any other application I own.
HD2 is not the only game or application I own. I only had to resolve CTDs etc. with HD2.
HD2 has issues. The developers have admitted as much themselves. When fixes for these bugs are announced you may regret the decision to buy new PC parts.
The choice is yours here...
You can play on low settings
You can buy new HW and hope that fixes your crashes.
You can not play until these bugs are fixed.
You can apply some free and easy software tweaks and play at full fidelity for free now.
My position is clear but ultimately the choice is yours.
