No DLSS or FSR
I was wondering since there is no DLSS or FSR being used then what technology is being used to change the scaling when selecting Ultra quality / Performance in display settings? I get good boost switching from Native to Ultra Quality with pretty minimal loss in quality.

However I just bought a new monitor LG GP850-B and switching from 1080p to 1440p is a nice boost in quality but end up with about 55 to 60 FPS on my gtx 1080 with HDR Native and it looks damn good and I was looking into boosting performance on top of the nice quality and I dont know if I should use NIS in NVCP or if the the in game Ultra Quality display scaling is better or what tech it uses to improve performance with minimal loss in quality.

I recommend this guide, and optimizing your settings to where you can play native res. Especially since a lot of the settings such as "space quality" change very little, yet have a pretty sizable negative impact on your FPS.

Also, this game uses some bad console version of AMD FSR 1.0 or something, and it RUINS fidelity, it's genuinely awful. The ego-ridden dev on Twitter basically said that they don't plan on adding DLSS or XeSS or FSR 3.0 anytime soon.

Ah damn that sucks, hopefully they will do something at some point, and yeah I found that video yesterday after hooking up the new monitor and helped a lot thanks for the info, I guess I will try NIS or leave it native and live with the lower fps.

Im hoping in the future the devs reconsider and implement FSR2 and DLSS. Their own upscaler is pretty trash and causes a hell of a lot of pixel crawl.

I know Warhammer 40K Darktide uses the same(ish) engine and DLSS actually gives a better final image at Quality (75%) than their TAA at native. Even better when you modify the DLL to force DLAA.

Seriously. The guy has a cult on the game's reddit, and they police the discord like it's straight outta 1984.

About DLSS he literally just said, "Cool tech, but we don't need it. I'd rather release cool content."

Bruh.

They have like 100 devs right? surely it's at most a few days work for one competent Dev, or subcontract puredark to implement it lol.

As for that direct quote, why would one necessitate not doing the other, what a garbage attitude.
