The factor of finding them between those ranges is based on how big the area is which equals to how many more Points of Interest. So, yes, you do potentially get more playing more difficult Missions. They just don't adjust how much per pickup.
best way to farm credits? reroll trivials until you find one with +5 credits, then force close the game once you have them
best way to farm medals? same as above or just doing the faster mission then resetting and failing the operation
best way to farm super samples? go into a specific helldive mission, ignore objective and go for the samples, extract when the mission timer runs out, failing the mission
and what do you get for meticulously cleaning the map of enemy fortifications? more enemies
the game rewards you for failing and punishes you for succeeding

Then why did you think I mentioned 20 and 30? I never seen anything else but these, and only one time I got 100. Not everyone is going to end up and pay attention to what they picked up.
