How do i get to play with users my level?
Hello,
I'm currently level ten playing on hard which seems to provide a decent amount of challenge. Whenever i try to quickmatch, i'm usually put with players >lv30, i even got a lv50 one on my last game. Those people are obviously there to farm and not to have fun, making missions boring in the way they play and often too easy because of their high level equipment. How can i get to play with normal people that are there to have fun and not to optimize their drop rate of stuff?

So, first of all, there is no way to force this. Difficulty and the match being public/friends only is all you can control.

As one of those 50s you may well see running on Medium/Challenging, I can say my intent isn't to go there to farm (I'm already at resource cap), but rather to chill and not have a game where heavy coordination/communication is necessary. Basically I want to contribute to the global war effort, but my friends aren't online.

While I get the dislike for having the game made "too easy," I don't think the presence of a high level player immediately negates your own ability to contribute. Also note, level wise, everything basically caps at 25.

While they might have a cool/uncommon primary weapon when they're 30+, nothing about their level indicates a dramatically higher power than a level 25 (because generally, its stratagems that turn the tide).

It's not only that they make the game too easy. They also often spend a lot more times than what's necessary on a mission, sometimes going well over the limit. They are obviously trying to loot stuff.

There are no filter system of any kind atm, so unless you can make a group yourself from either here or discord.
You kinda out of luck.

Make friends and don't rely on matchmaking then. The matchmaking just throws random people together, doesn't account for level or where they are in the world. You can try to get a team on Discord, Reddit, whatever social media you want to use.

Far as Equipment, you can still wreck even with a Stalwart, a Gatling Turret, an Eagle Strafing Run and a Liberator if you know what you're doing. (Your job basically just becomes mow down all the small stuff, leave the bigger stuff to heavier weapons)

Hell you start with the Precision Strike and though there's better options, that's how I killed my first Charger and Bile Titan. Just place it well.

I mean, its helping you too, you realize? All the resources are shared. Going the extra step to get the nests and secondary objectives nets more XP and Requisition.

The only "farming" you might see is people going overly out of their way for Super Credits or Medals, which again, helps you.

+1

I'm level 32, and Hard is as high as I'll go without a premade.

No way I'm slogging through Bile Titan and Charger spam with randoms. Just not doing it.

And the issue with looting the loot is what exactly?

You realize wanting to run the map as fast as possible, without looting, makes "you" the farmer, right? Because that's how you farm - doing the missions as quickly as possible.

Helldivers 2 is one of those rare multiplayer games that are actually fun to play, so i don't care about resources. Sure, it's a nice bonus, but if it means spending 20 minutes running around the map instead of surviving intense battles it's not worth it.

They made there money off you they dont have to care now

Just use the map.. Fly to a planet, bug or bots with missions and a decent player count, select your desired mission level, then pan around the map for active missions or lobbies. The game shows how many players on the icon, and top left of the map is shows the name and level of each player in the group.

If the game is too easy, go to a higher difficulty. If you aren't there to farm resources such as medals, super credits, and samples, then just go shoot the enemy so your team can complete objectives and harvest the valuable, shared resources that you care so little about. I guess you don't want to upgrade your abilities, unlock new weapons and armor, or even level up.

I guess I'm just confused then,

If the game is just too easy with these people, go up a difficulty step. If you're at 10+, you have access to core stratagems to not be useless probably all the way up to difficulty 6. With a coordinated group you can get through 7.

If you want that challenge, go up a step in difficulty. The only thing "gating" your progress in difficulty is the completion of an operation under the previous difficulty.

It still sounds like your objection is to the fact that these higher level players aren't extracting immediately. I'm not sure why that would be objectionable if your goal is a challenge.

I'm confused as to what the complaint actually is.

Do you want a group that does the main objective and then immediately extracts? If so, you are looking for a farming group. That's how you farm - by rushing the map to grind medals and experience.

On the other hand, if the game is fun, why are you objecting to taking an extra five to ten minutes to fully clear the map?

Basically, it sounds to me like you're looking for a bunch of low level speed runners/farmers.

start the game yourself so you are a host, then just kick anyone too high level. Just kick them immediately and dont be a douche and kick them 15 minutes later.

to anyone who thinks thats toxic, take it up with the developers who chose to give the player basically 0 control over who they play with

It's a difficult balance to find. Hard difficulty is usually a pretty decent challenge, especially against machines. It only gets too easy when there are some dudes with mortars, orbital rays, etc.
