As one of those 50s you may well see running on Medium/Challenging, I can say my intent isn't to go there to farm (I'm already at resource cap), but rather to chill and not have a game where heavy coordination/communication is necessary. Basically I want to contribute to the global war effort, but my friends aren't online.
While I get the dislike for having the game made "too easy," I don't think the presence of a high level player immediately negates your own ability to contribute. Also note, level wise, everything basically caps at 25.
While they might have a cool/uncommon primary weapon when they're 30+, nothing about their level indicates a dramatically higher power than a level 25 (because generally, its stratagems that turn the tide).
You kinda out of luck.
Far as Equipment, you can still wreck even with a Stalwart, a Gatling Turret, an Eagle Strafing Run and a Liberator if you know what you're doing. (Your job basically just becomes mow down all the small stuff, leave the bigger stuff to heavier weapons)
Hell you start with the Precision Strike and though there's better options, that's how I killed my first Charger and Bile Titan. Just place it well.
The only "farming" you might see is people going overly out of their way for Super Credits or Medals, which again, helps you.
+1
I'm level 32, and Hard is as high as I'll go without a premade.
No way I'm slogging through Bile Titan and Charger spam with randoms. Just not doing it.
And the issue with looting the loot is what exactly?
You realize wanting to run the map as fast as possible, without looting, makes "you" the farmer, right? Because that's how you farm - doing the missions as quickly as possible.
Helldivers 2 is one of those rare multiplayer games that are actually fun to play, so i don't care about resources. Sure, it's a nice bonus, but if it means spending 20 minutes running around the map instead of surviving intense battles it's not worth it.
If the game is just too easy with these people, go up a difficulty step. If you're at 10+, you have access to core stratagems to not be useless probably all the way up to difficulty 6. With a coordinated group you can get through 7.
If you want that challenge, go up a step in difficulty. The only thing "gating" your progress in difficulty is the completion of an operation under the previous difficulty.
It still sounds like your objection is to the fact that these higher level players aren't extracting immediately. I'm not sure why that would be objectionable if your goal is a challenge.
I'm confused as to what the complaint actually is.
Do you want a group that does the main objective and then immediately extracts? If so, you are looking for a farming group. That's how you farm - by rushing the map to grind medals and experience.
On the other hand, if the game is fun, why are you objecting to taking an extra five to ten minutes to fully clear the map?
Basically, it sounds to me like you're looking for a bunch of low level speed runners/farmers.
to anyone who thinks thats toxic, take it up with the developers who chose to give the player basically 0 control over who they play with
It's a difficult balance to find. Hard difficulty is usually a pretty decent challenge, especially against machines. It only gets too easy when there are some dudes with mortars, orbital rays, etc.
