What is your go-to loadout - Automaton/Terminid setup.
I'm curious to what loadouts people find most effective against each species.

Terminid
Primary : breaker
Secondary : Redeemer
Grenade : impack
S1 : Eagle airstrike/cluster bomb
S2 : Orbital precision strike
S3 : depend but usually sentry
S4 : EAT/RR/AC/ depend on what team bring
For Automaton it can't be specific
Primary is the same but depend on mission type stratagem need to be choose for specific objective

I play almost exclusively against Automatons.

* Primary : R-63. It is a sniper with pinpoint accuracy and a scope. I can clear a full regiment of basic troops way easier than any random who bring their shotgun from the Terminid area since if you can aim at all most shots are one hit kills. Can also totally one shot any big robot short of the Hulk with a good, difficult to land headshot on their tiny head.
* Secondary: the uzi which I believe is actually an auto pistol? Can't be arsed to remember the name. I commonly whip it out to deal with the chainsaw robots. Aim either for the head or the torso. Can also, in a pinch, be used to destroy a bigger robot by aiming for the head. It shoot out so many bullets in one go that unless you get hit yourself it is pretty much one kill per clip if you actually hit the head.
* S1: Eagle Air Strike - Very effective against everything. I mainly use it to clear fabricators but I can use it in a pinch if dropships drops show up in front of me. I have fully upgraded my bays (the first thing I ever upgraded) and 3 uses with very minimal downtime make the heck of a big difference.
* S2: The shield backpack. I'm not a meta man but against Automatons this make the hell of a difference since they all try to shoot at you one way or another. It is especially important for me, as a sniper, because it greatly delay me getting hit and mean that I can stay steady (and thus kill faster) for a longer time even under stress.
* S3 Railgun. Again, not a meta man but this gun really complement everything else in my setup. Especially the R-63. It can destroy anything in one good shot except an Hulk but this time a well aimed, charged shot to the head of a Hunk also bring it down. A pinpoint weapon which can deal with almost everything thrown at me.
* S4: Either the damage mortar or the laser orbital strike, depending of the map/objectives. I always bring the mortar with me when I solo maps as it is a reliable support damage turret which can indirectly clear enemies which would be inconvenient for me to face. Lots of people don't want you to bring that in MP tho so, otherwise, the laser orbital strike is there to deal with stuff I can't deal by myself with the rest of this loadout. Mainly tanks and cannon towers in big enemy bases.

At first I used to field the anti-material rifle instead until I could unlock the railgun and I used it pretty much for the same role. The railgun is just better on every aspect.

I refined this loadout carefully since about a full month now. I barely take anything else.

If you're looking for a useful all-rounder than really it's pretty simple to find a loadout for yourself.

Most of the time you're gonna want a variety of different Anti Armor and Anti Horde.

Anyhow this is my "Go-to" Loadout.

Peak Physique on the Jaguar Commando (Can be any Peak Physique armor but Jaguar is just for the drip)

Primary: Diligence Counter Sniper Marksman Rifle (175 Damage Per Shot, Medium Armor Penetration and Decent Firerate and Magazine Size)

Secondary: Redeemer SMG, GREAT Crowd control and a fast reload (Excellent Backup Weapon) OR P-113 Verdict

Grenades: Standard HE Grenades (For Damage and Fabricator Destruction)

TIME FOR CALL-INS

I usually run a 2 Turret, 1 Orbital and 1 Special Call-in Loadout

For Anti-Tank, The Quasar Cannon is by far one of the best weapons in the game if you know how to use it properly

Gatling Turret OR Autocannon

Mortar Turret

And Railcannon Strike for Super Heavy Armor

I mean...a vanilla "can do anything" loadout is eagle airstrike, orbital precision, EATs, supply pack with a redeemer + slug shotgun/scorcher or something. No warbonds needed for that.
Covers every base, not the best, not going to get wrecked by surprise spewers or devastator drops..
As for "effective" :emofdr: depends on your preferences with the decent weapons. I don't follow youtube so i use the ballistic shield and enjoy being indestructible on bot missions. :evadebullets:

I mostly just kill players at this point. I use whatever makes the biggest explosion, or for stealth kills the flamethrower and laser bot because I can just blame it on me being a ♥♥♥♥ player.

For automatons, I bring the Dominator, the Senator Revolver, and Impact Grenades. Strategems include the precision strike, airstrikes, 500kg bombs, and the autocannon.

For terminids, I bring the cookout, the grenade pistol, and the incendiary impact grenades from Polar Patriots. Strategems include the precision strike, cluster bombs, gas strikes, and the flamethrower.

Sometimes I'll vary my loadout for different types of missions, but this is what I usually bring.
big knee Aug 18, 2024 @ 10:43pm
for bots though i like something with some punch that can go through armor easily like the dominator and senator or just something explosive, orbital precision strike is a good one to have with bots and bugs because of its fairly low cooldown, high damage and good AT and structure destroying ability, bubble shield if you want though i dont use it as it kinda trivialises all but the highest few difficulties at least with bots if you have a decent team.

for bugs i prefer something fast that can dish out a lot of damage in a short amount of time like a shotgun to take care of stalkers/hunters if they manage to sneak up on me, AT is slightly less important for bugs but still something you need so you dont just get juggled by a group of chargers or spend the whole game being chased by the same bile titan, overall high AoE is good, strafing run, airstrike, gattling barrage, airburst strike, grenade launcher, flamethrower, things like that are highly important against bugs.
the MOST valuable thing in this game though is using what's fun, there's no point in having an OP build if you aren't enjoying the game, try out different weapons and stratagem combos to see what you enjoy most.

Pummeller, always.
Impact on bots, impact incendiary on bugs.
Nade pistol, always.
Jump pack, always.
Orbital gatling, sometimes airstrike.
AC sentry, sometimes OPS.
Arc thrower bugs, laser cannon bots.

Are these builds highly effective? Not really. But I'm 520 hours in with all achievements and the game has pretty much lost all challenge for me. Really, you can take whatever you want as long as you're covering heavy, medium, and light targets. Loadout is mostly irrelevant. Positioning and situational awareness are paramount.
pazow269 Aug 18, 2024 @ 10:59pm
Adjudicator, always its actually pretty good
HE or thermite depending on how anti tank i need to be
Either shotgun pistol or grenade pistol
Commando for bots, auto cannon for bugs
Eagle cluster bomb or napalm depending on bots or bugs
Orbital laser always
Auto cannon sentry always

Usually effective and got me most somewhat hard achievements such as the gone in 360 seconds one.

Each and every loadout is effective against both factions!

If you don't know how to be flexible and adapt your loadout to the faction you're facing then that's a clear and undeniable skill issue on your part!

Git gud!

Why are you resurrecting threads which are not relevant anymore? There has been plenty of the same threads which got started recently.
