Donating and throwing it into a trashcan are highly different.
Stopping enemy attacks from happening is fine in theory, in practice we'd need intel to know at least 48 hours in advance where the next attack will be coming from since we can only move the DSS every 24 hours. If it doesn't cancel an attack that's already ongoing then it's pretty useless (and I'm sure it won't since it says prevent). So the current move to Mastia is probably a waste of time too.
The attacks are not real, there is no attack, its just flavor text. This does nothing for gameplay
