Because they don't all play at the same time or even the same days... now a lot of them are taking a break, playing other stuff, waiting for updates, etc... nothing unusual.
Bro I said the same thing and got a huge reddit post doing all kinds of math explaining why I was a moron and clearly 12 million people are still playing 😆
As for the defense of "every game falls off after launch" sure, that's true but this game has had a much more interesting arc than most. It really only fell off due to it's own shortcomings and continuing issues/drama. Huge fumble, can't wait for a competent dev to clone it.
I am not the best with math, but i am sure 76k is not 10% of 458k.
That math is flawed, because for it to make sense, you have to assume that it is always the same 30-100k people who play.
Lets do some math, if the game has sold 12million copy, the majority of which AH claims are on PC (I assume 90% in that case).
If it is 90%, then on PC 10.800.000 Copies were sold. 96.8% of all player who bought the game finished the tutorial.
Thats 10.454.400 player.
What Steam tracks is the average amount of player, player playing at the moment, not the concurrent players.
If one guy logs out and the next logs in, the graph wont change, because one player got replaced by another.
Now if steam would track the concurrent player amount it would be something different.
There is no save way to really calculate this as most maths are just assumptions for this case.
Also have to consider that not everyone will play every day. HD2 is a game where it is fully ok to play other games if you are bored or get burned, play something else, you can always come back later.
76 is almost double that. If my calculator-fu is still up to date, that's about 17%.
As soon we do get a good buff again i will once more play it im sure. But not at this state right now
Uninstalled, looking at the falling numbers is more enjoyable.
There are other games out there to play and people have other things to do in life. I'm sure a lot of people have toned down how often they are in the game, but that doesn't mean that 90% of the player base has left.
People need to stop with the click-bait and terror tactics when posting threads. So many people are such drama queens these days. Calm down, take a breath, continue to play if you want or find something else to do.
