Are guns being nerfed because
...they dont have enough content and are trying to slow down the killing? I swear the more nerfs the weapons get the less fun the game is. I want to completely destroy my enemy not kite a massive train of enemies. They are ruining the fun, seriously

The chief balance dev is a hack and there's a huge disconnect in the game design that causes the "optimal" strategy to devolve into "Ignore as many enemies as possible".

Compare something like L4D(2)'s occasional colossal hordes that you need to plant your feet and deal with vs HD2's "Patrol that spawns enemies that last until another patrol spawns that spawns more enemies" loop as an example.

A very small and very vocal minority of the playerbase want to make sure this game isn't a "power fantasy" because it "doesn't make sense" since you're being sent down with "♥♥♥♥ equipment". But...HD1 had the same backstory and whatnot. Weapons weren't insanely overpowered, and the game was fun. So what about that???

While that does happen, it's also a telling sign that the team isn't well-equipped to deal with the reinforcements fast enough to prevent another bot drop by efficient crowd-control. It's only the Commissars and Troopers that call call in reinforcements, and they're also the easiest to kill as well. Similar to L4D2' Boomer, you have to prioritize targets to prevent being overwhelmed.

i think thier philosophy was to have newer weapons be meta then Nerf them in to the ground so when next warbond comes out it will have OP weapons.
But the players aren't having it, so thats not going to happen anymore?

NO METAs!!!!! Literally no metas allowed in HD2 the balance dev and I think the ceo both do not like them. Could be wrong about the ceo but I know the balance guy haters them with a passion for some reason.

Like 2 guns have been nerfed in any way that really changed them. Most of the rest were buffed.

I think hd 1 is fun because the primay weapons are powerful enough to deal with most of the enemy and even sometime a horde. Support weapon is only needed in higher level and use to deal with the few type of heavy enemy only and often one shot them. It allow player to handle the horde when patrol is triggered until you decide to run away or clear it. In hd2, you run away most of the times and rarely stand your ground and clear the horde which make it less fun in a game with so many gun varieties. I often enjoy facing horde and clear it with teammate in large map mission but we are not always capable to do it and run away instead.

There is a huge difference between the two games when it comes to balance, mainly a person who joined HD2 and made it his mission to ruin it like he did another game.

"...they dont have enough content and are trying to slow down the killing? "

Wtf is that even supposed to mean bro?
Do you think the game has a limited number of bugs for us to kill and then it's will be over?
Are you playing a secret "solo player campaign mode" where you beat levels until you reach the last boss or something?

Wtf did you even tried to say there buddy?
Us killing the bugs slower doesn't magically mean we are clearing "less content", wtf?!

The problem is that it seems that their solution to that dilemma was to just make everything trash. I'm convinced that the devs do not fully understand weapon popularity. Sometimes weapons are popular because they are meta. However, sometimes they're popular because they're fun or easy to use or <gulp> "well balanced". They don't see the difference. A weapon is being used alot, time to nerf it.

I say buff everything. In terms of sheer power, the only thing that feels appropriate is "most" of the shotguns. They did their best to nerf those as well though.

A lot of people forgot how abysmal the weapon meta was at launch. Or didn't have the game pre-patch.

Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker Breaker...

From the first two bonds, I'd say the only guns that still bad are the lib con and the scythe.

Primary weapon meta up until the first nerf for breaker was really bad. Though I never used the breaker, it's clear given the fact that it's all people used back then AND the fact that there were smaller swarms back then (charger spawn decreased and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ increased for rocket buff) that it was certainly powerful. So, nerf it a bit. Don't gut it. Despite the breaker being irresponsibly overpowered, I didn't use it. Why? I didn't like it, I didn't have fun with it. So now I propose something: revert/buff all the gutted guns and weapons all at once, and see what happens. Who knows, maybe instead of a meta shoehorned by the fact that ONLY a single gun was powerful won't arise this time around...and gasp people might use the gun they like and have fun with if it's viable. The problem with all the meta bemoanments and something being really powerful is that it's always the only thing that's really powerful at a time, and thus the meta forms. For example, railgun was nerfed partially because it was the only thing that could counter chargers, and thus was meta. It was the only thing that could back then. But after some changes, now we have three weapons that handle the chargers, all 3 rockets, and they're all pretty balanced and offer pros and cons that the others done. I guarantee that if the railgun was buffed back to how it was pre nerf (assuming the BT bug is fixed), then it would make the anti-charger kits even more healthy, as the railgun handles chargers well, but has it's own drawbacks and pros to consider.
