If AAA industry employees held each other responsible for failures like Hello Neighbor, they'd all be jobless.
This was obviously a bait post that's why I didn't even bother with it. OG Eruptor was so far from a 1 gun do all. It had a lot of utility that is true. However, it suffered from unreliable and clumsy aim, slow rate of fire, slow reload, and it was the worst gun in the game for CQC combat. You get swarmed with the Eruptor and you are dead, it took skill to use and if you had the skill it was very powerful, that's what made it fun. Now it's absolutely useless.
Disagree, you need to read about Alexus and how he handled Hello Neighbor 2, specifically the state of the game and all you could do before he started, what was removed, and how he handled community feedback.
Games can fail, I'm not arguing that, and I hear what you are saying, it's not always anyone's fault. But Hello Neighbor 2 died because of one mans ego, and that man was Alexus.
Whether you or I like it or not Helldivers 2 is dying now as well.
Amen to that!
Just wanted to show oithers how silly this guy is.
People tend to forget or ignore that other PRIMARIES can destroy WAY more units then the Eruptor talking about medium elite units here, at the time you are done TRIPPLE reloading just to kill one Berserker......yeah balanced sure sure....
It would be fine if they narrowed the explosion radius of the gun but still keep its high damage output to rightfully one shot certain enemies they even nerfed the Eruptor TWICE...thanks for ruining its fun and made it useless...Did you knew in nerf 1 you could one shot Striders at their leg or knee joint? Well even that they took away in nerf 2 they even took away Sniper skill even at 100m! No easy task but dang satisfying what a turd this "Hello Neighbor 2" POS is.....
Okay, you are removed shrapnel, main feature of eruptor, because it were super effective and some snowflakes cried about rist to use it. Removing shrapnels, that done most damage and had AP4. Make Eruptor (as I thought and any sane person would thing) as dominator on steroids - AP4 to compensate lack of shrapnels, high impact damage and explosion damage that in whole can oneshot devastator at belly or head/near head. In results we got gun 10 times worse than dominator.
But if for one second an industry employee admitted that, then they'd be held to the same standard and likely get fired.
That's why none of them admit to these failures being on them. It's always either the players or the publishers to blame.
Ya'll are some of the easiest fans to placate.
I mean he's probably under contract, they can't just fire him, but they CAN discuss a different approach to balancing which doesn't involve solely letting this person dictate the changes he clearly can't figure out on his own.
The ricochet thing is just a glaring example of inability to do his job. There are no laws of physics, there's nothing that supports the idea that a bullet would redirect back at the person shooting it 100% of the time outside of fantasy. The mechanic is so stupid, it's such a bad idea, and he didn't even think it through, shrapnel ended up ricocheting back at the player and the only way he could fix it was removing it. That's just a string of novice decisions.
Unfortunately, it is the bow on top of all the balancing issues this game has had since launch. So hopefully he did get spanked, because if not... this game is chalked.
The next balance patch will either make or break the game.
I agree but I've already let this game die in my head honestly...
I and many, many other of my fellow helldivers can all see a clear path to making the changes needed to make the game fun and remain challenging, but I don't think the "balance" team or Alexus can see it.
I predict very mild changes at best to the newest war bond to make those weapons look better but I can guarantee any changes they make or "buffs" they give to the weapons, they will nullify with buffs to the enemy.
This guy Alexus is balancing the game on console that has known bugs that make the helldiver stronger, and because he can't do his literal job and ALSO balance on the pc where the bug isn't present, pc players will just end up with the same ♥♥♥♥ balance patches on repeat, while AH and the CEO scramble to apologize over and over again with out addressing the real issues head on such as an incompetent "balance team" and unprofessional CM's.
Actually just get angry anytime I think about this game now. Biggest L in gaming history.
