Well, we don't have to fight the bugs or squids over a planet if there is no planet to fight over anymore. That just means one less battlefield to deal with.

..they never did tell us what we had to do to Stop maridia moving it seems to me its plot armored in. my guess is we all scramble to create light energy to repel the now being used as a dark energy bomb maridia.. my guess is we'll have to liberate planets in its way to errect giant towers to force maridia back.

Dark matter was collected and was used to move it. We were not stopping them before we knew what was going on and our efforts here were too little too late.

Dark energy accumulates while illuminate invasions are ongoing, 1 invasion is equal to 1% dark energy per hour and dark energy decays by 1.1% per hour naturally. The more dark energy they have the faster Meridia will go.

Even if loss of Angel's Venture was inevitable, maybe AH needed to get off their lazy asses and finally adjust the DSS on Illuminate, so eagle strafing run actually stopped the timer and gave us time to defend planets and slow down Meridia.
