Try to time your attack, they fire in bursts. Shoot them directly in the face and hope for the best.
Can stun/knock them with (stun) grenades as well.
Autocannon makes short work as every hit will make them completely move their shield to the side as they get staggered.
I'm using the HMG a lot lately and they can be onetapped if you land a headshot, but that can be impossible if they're actively firing at you.
Rocket devastators can be outmaneuvered by running away from their rockets, plus they usually just sent you flying instead of killing you (unless you bring light armor).
I've just been packing the laser lately, otherwise I'm screwed on ammo. It's BiS to me right now just for that reason. Only let down is factory doggos but the Oribtal Strike is great right now so nbd
Rocket devastators are not a big problem after AH nerfed the insane accuracy of bots rocketeers...heavy devs don't miss a shot.
That'd also fix the ragdoll issue.
Funny thing, I used it before the buff, in my AC build, to keep chaff on check while I am reloading the Auto-Cannon.
Patch notes say they fixed the bug where heavies would shoot sideways. Haven't played bots much, did it work?
Bring a primary that can stagger, hit its open spot in the upper left (while looking at them face to face) then shoot:
1) its head
2) its leg
3) its gun arm
or bring an energy based primary with aoe stagger
btw once you hide and they start suppression fire, if you can sneak away without getting into their LOS, they will still think you're behind that rock/wall so you can get them from the side or behind. Even hulks do this.
Best solutions to heavy devas are stun nades and exploiting their wide shot angle. I.E. pull them around corners and hills where their gatling can't get an angle.
But taking care of them in the open is a nightmare due to their RIDICULOUS accuracy. Too bad that line about suppressing autos with gunfire is total BS.
What if ALL the balance changes that have ever come to the game are in an effort to punish players who run off on their own instead of sticking with the team? What if the devs are just trying -really- hard to force players to bring complementary loadouts?
This thing is so good, 5 uses, medium and heavy penetration, it can kill vents on fabricators (and bug holes I guess) and it is, once again, 5 uses. Also has a faster call-in time than the airstrike by 2 seconds. It's so ridiculously time-on-target that it's unfair to the enemy.
