You're probably dealing with an off-shoot of the current settings bug:

"We are working on a fix for a crash that occurs when you change settings after viewing the Viper Commandos banner in the Warbond menu. However, if you are experiencing this crash, one of our developers has a workaround for it:
You can avoid the crash by not changing settings on the ship after viewing the warbond. If you wait until you drop into a mission, you are safe to change settings again."

I use a 4090 and never noticed the issue AHGS reported or any FPS loss except for maybe 1-2 instances I can think of in the past 2-3 days.

Your rigg seems less affected than the larger community so you don't actually crash either because your system is either well optimized, you just have a really strong piece of hardware, or both.

No crashes but its only when i open the escape menu it halfs my fps, and using lowest preset or ultra preset doesnt affect my fps at ALL, and it happens when i dont even change the settings. And using shift tab pauses the game as it is so i have no way around not pausing the game

Can relate, this been an issue since previous patch and I'm extremely disappointed this was not fixed, means the game is still running like crap.

Might the issue be related to Windows 10? Had same problem on W10 where game went from stable 80+fps to sub 30fps on an alt-tab or after changing options.

Installed Win10 in May due to Vanguard in League, but last night went back to Pop!OS (Linux) and game have no issue of dropping fps at all.

And many people say they don't experience drops, so might be related to Windows 10?
What OS people affected are using?

Feel free to keep blaming Windows, I was running this game on stable 60FPS on maximum settings up until the previous patch, and people with weaker systems were experiencing issues before that as well.

The performance regressions with each patch are quite clear.

im sure its not the bio setting for vanguard cuz i play valorant and tried changing it back doesnt do anything but after this patch instead of my gpu usage dropping to 50 after hitting ESC now it drop to 75 percent so i mean its getting better but still needs more work .
