Give Eruptor back its shrapnel
This patch, once again, failed to address the eruptor's problem. You increased the damage but the explosion unlike the old shrapnel does't seem to have medium armor pen and/or the damage falls off too fast.

You keep citing that it was killing players for being to close... well there was an easy solution most players had already come to: don't use it up close. I know shocker. Besides now that impacts are lethal it still kills you just with the gigantic knockback force.

If left as-is it needs the cambering speed increased by like 50%, otherwise just undo all the nefs apart from the max reserve. Before it was slow but could take out like 5-8 in one shot with a high chance of killing anyone nearby. Now it kills maybe 2 things. I get it, it was too much before but you fix that by shrinking its massive explosion radius not removing the shrapnel.

It just feels bad to use now which is a shame.

Stop being cowards, give it back its shrapnel.

Next, remove bullets from guns because they can also accidentally kill other players.

Oh yeah, I like this idea! maybe disarm the Eagles because those explosives they drop have a tenancy to kill players too.

I like a lot the new crossbow, if they give Eruptor good handling I would not miss the shrapnel.

They upped the damage massively Works great. I've gone back to being a fan. Sorry to hear it hasn't done the same for you. I really see no problem with it now tbh... Though I do agree that the armour penetration could do with being tweaked upward a bit.

this whole thread is a bunch of copium for not being able to one tap chargers with a primary, its more then fine ATM ♥♥♥♥ i have been dropping chargers all day with this thing with 2-4 shots in the rear and upwards of 6 small kills per trigger pull.

In other words it is a primary weapon that can and will kill chargers if the user actually aims and positions themselves properly, not just mindlessly smacking the ground under the charger

Really ? Tbh I thought the Eruptor a poor choice for bugs even before the nerfs. Not the best weapon to take at all. Gimme a Jar5 any day lol.

Tbh, the Eruptor could clear an entire swarm in one shot with its shrapnel. It kinda really, really, needed to be nerfed.

Yes, nobody is claiming a nerf was not needed but their reason for removing the shrapnel was not to nerf it, it was to prevent stupid players from killing themselves and others with it. All it needed was a slight damage reduction and the AoE nerf it got back when they also removed the srapnel, that's it.

I not once mentioned wanting it to be able to do that, nice strawman. But sure jerk off the devs more by belittling anyone that disagrees with you.

I think shrapnel is gone forever, too much issues to work around.
But it's should atleast have new thing going for it, I suggest making into a true main slot AC to compensate by upping it's pen level more.

Can someone steelman AH' position as to why the Eruptor should not have its shrapnel effect. AFAIK, the shrapnel effect has the potential to do more than the intended damage per bullet/shell, potentially causing overdamage to the durable parts.

For bots, I don't see this as an issue since the AoE explosion is more important. However, for bugs, this is a major deal with bugs comprise of both durable and squishy parts that results in Eruptors potentially OHK Chargers easily by easily breaking the legs, and doing excessive durable damage. And as a result, the Eruptor trivializes bug missions due to its combination of durable+explosive damage.

That's too powerful for just a primary weapon.
