Hiding the mission timer is a terrible change
I have no idea why the devs decided to change it so you have to press tab to see the mission timer. This is critical information that we need to see all the time. Did anyone actually want this change?

they want to stop players completing missions quickly and stop min-maxing every map/farming. Having the timer always there game to a time management as well plan out your attacks. If taking out a base on your way to the objective loses you little it of time, or you been fighting the same group too long and need to move on.

my thoughts they don't want players playing around the timer and a small group of whiners may have claimed it makes them feel rushed to complete the mission (just my opinion)

So it wasn't my imagination. I agree, it's a problem. Meeting a patrol after seeing the time at 25 minutes then once they finally let me breathe, i'm a 7 minutes left to complete the objective and evacuate. It's hard to think about looking at your map when 5 berserk and three jumpack are rushing you. Just after killing a dozen of each

If this was an actual intentional change it's a bad one. The timer is critical, if you don't start the extraction with enough time to get out before the destroyer leaves, you are going to lose your strats and then it's not likely you are getting out alive with your samples.

This is especially bad for the blitz missions, where it's easy to not realize your time is up.

What I've seen is players wandering aimlessly around the map, truly not giving 2 ***** if the objectives get done.
As if being on a timer, motivates them to not waste time just fighting hordes (that earn you nothing)

The anti-player development in this game will always boggle my mind.
"Okay well we are gonna buff guns, but btw now there's a lot more chargers that take TWO hits to kill"
So now the Anti-heavy guy role is nerfed because you cannot deal with 3 behemoth-chargers and 2 biles at the same time as easily ONE guy anymore.

Ah well.

Well it's an assbackwards change because just pressing tab brings the timer back up and I can immediately know how much time I have left in a mission. Obfuscation of even more information probably isn't the way to go when the game is already obtuse about what you can and can't do in it.

With the timer you have time to farm the map for credits and medals before extraction. What the heck.

The timer is not critical. The map on the other hand is.

When game updated it changed hud options. Now timer is hidden by default (tab - map shows it), but can be turned always visible in options.

Might be a little weird at first but that doesn't mean it's a bad change.

There are may be many reasons why they did that. One I have noticed is that some people rush things up while they see the timer, like you had hurry.
This is not the case. You can cross the map in just one and half minutes and do even some objectives while you're at it.

If the hosts for example feels this way, they might kick players for not instantly going for objectives. You can surely understand this, right?

This patch changed it by default to dinamic. HUD settings > always visible
